It is becoming painfully more obvious that we are laughed at around the league. From the way we handle the draft to the way we hire a coach to throwing cash at underachievers. Yet, we still sell out every game and the fan base grows. Almost every city in the country has an official Redskins fan club. The owner tries hard to win a championship (despite his failings) and will spend money. The fans care. The team has legacy and a strong history.
What's wrong?
In Detroit, DC, Cleveland and Kansas City fans live for their team (among others). The average Bostonian would rather see the Sox play a day game than another SB. In NY they have so many teams in different sports it's hard to say which is biggest. But these are the SB teams?
We are Detroit now. Vinny is Matt Millen and beautiful FedEx is just like beautiful Ford Field (though they at least can get a SB hosted there).
I pray that we don't endure the gap between championships that Detroit has, but it wouldn't suprise me.
So find solace, fellow fans, there are others like us out there. Of course, we can still laugh at the Texans. For now.
