DynamiteRave 01-28-2008, 09:04 PM This thread looks its heading into the direction of being banished to thread hell.
At least it'll give the Vince Young thread some company if it does. :D
GTripp0012 01-28-2008, 09:05 PM He drafts wellWe draft well. Better actually.
SmootSmack 01-28-2008, 09:38 PM At the risk of sounding defensive, let me try to clarify what I was trying to say. I didn't intend for this to be a doom and gloom thread. Rather, I think the Skins have a great, rabid fan base (much like Cleveland, KC and yes, Detroit).
The Ford family spends money on players, coaches, FO, stadium amenities, training areas, practice fields and equipment. This completely differentiates them from the Cards. Unfortunately their spendetures and efforts have not translated into a whole lot of victories.
Thanks for the clarification. Makes a bit more sense now
SmootSmack 01-28-2008, 09:39 PM I do not tolerate any type of condescending attitude from you or anybody. If there was some error in my original post, then a moderator would've let me know about it. Since you are not a moderator, I do not accept any chastisement you have for me. I ask you very nicely to refrain from anymore personal attacks..
Honestly I didn't read your first post. But let's just move on
GMScud 01-28-2008, 09:53 PM No, we're the Washington Redskins. Say what you will about Snyder and Cerrato. I'll take them 8 days a week over Ford/Millen. I still can't believe they started 6-2 and wet the bed to a 7-9 record. Someone here said it, and if I remembered who I'd give them credit, but the Detroit Lions are built to lose. Perennially.
T.O.Killa 01-28-2008, 10:07 PM We are worse than Detroit, and Snyder a worse owner than Al Davis.

I think there's room for you on the Pats bandwagon.
skinsguy 01-28-2008, 10:25 PM And here's my point in how ridiculous it is to compare the Lions to the Redskins. The Redskins have had 15 playoff wins since 1980, 5 Conference Championship appearances, 4 Conference Championships, 4 Super Bowl appearances, 3 Super Bowl victories.
The Lions have had only one playoff win since 1980, 1 conference Championship appearance, 8 losses all in the wild card round, no Super Bowl appearances. Comparing just the last 10 years, the Lions had two playoff appearances, the Redskins had three. The Lions didn't win in either one of those playoff appearances, the Redskins have two victories.
There still cannot rightfully be any comparison between the two franchises.

Al Davis can barely walk, let alone make football decisions. Since they went to the Super Bowl 4 or 5 season back, they have the league's worst winning percentage- 23.8%. Detroit isn't far behind. How is Snyder a worse owner than Al Davis? Or the Ford/Millen joke in Detroit for that matter?

Since 1993, the Redskins have a whopping 8 more victories than the Lions over that same time span.
