Why is anyone getting excited over Mooch. he's another sorry re-tread.
I'd take Meeks anyday over Mooch.

You obviously think of his years in Detroit. I've watched him here in SF when was a coach at Cal-Berkeley and then the 49ers and he's a great coach. I'm not a 49er fan, I actually hate them as much as the Cowboys, but I have to give him the respect he deserves. He got a bad deal when ownership changed here from Eddie D. to his sister and they cleaned house.

Mooch would be better than Fassel. Do you think he approved of The Danny's hirngs of assistants though? The adjustment for the players to a new system is one matter, but the coaching staff will have to come together on the new systems/approaches as well. I hope this doesn't end up like Marty did though. I could see Mooch wanting control after awhile to make a real go of it. Do you guys think we will keep much of Saunders offense if any at all, or a totally new system?

Thanks for the insight on Mooch. I'm willing to give him the benefit of having to suffer under a bad GM in Detroit.

What kind of offense did he run in Detroit.

West Coast, Marty Morninweigh (SP?) was his OC. He's currently Andy Reid's OC.

With Vinnies previous experience with Mooch I'm wondering why he was not considered earlier particularly ahead of Fassel? With Zorns leaning toward a hybrid West Coast Offense why wouldn't a West Coast architect like Mooch be a likely choice to stabalize an area where the biggest shakeup will occur, on offense.

Also I've heard that both Fassel and Meeks have stated that their choice of OF and DF coordinators would be Zorn and Blatche. What are your thoughts on Mariucci having coordinators picked for him.

I just watched the NFL network interview with Mooch and my conclusion is:

Even Deion said, take me with you.

Marty was the head coach of the Lions during the 2001–2002 seasons. Mooch replaced him and got axed in 05 after three years on the job.

Per Wikipedia (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ted_Tollner) Ted Tollner was his OC in Detroit after serving the same roll in SF for one year.

What show was it on? The impression I get is that NFL Network is like MTV, film 4 or 5 shows then rerun them 24/7. Also in the meantime can you tell me anything else about what was said in that interview?
