Could be one of the "and more" candidates Zorn alluded to...

Not he best candidate from what I can tell. His resume is not all that impressive, and a 53 its not ike your taking a chance on him dispite his lack of stats because he is a younger guy. We'll see, but Id be very surprised if he was named HC.

I mentioned in the "Who do you want now" thread that Meeks would be an excellent long term choice for coach, his resume may not be stellar, but impressive none the less. Wherever he's been as a position coach, the position improved dramatically.

Remember when Bobby Bethard was about to hire Joe Gibbs, Mr. Cooke asked him, "Who the hell is Joe Gibbs? A young unknown, with no HC experience who went on to have a HOF career. I don't know what Meeks' chances are of coming here as coach, but he would be an excellent choice, and great for the city of Washington, DC.

I would be very happy with Meeks. Look at the Indy D over the last few years under his tutelage.

I hate to tell you but it won't be Meeks or anyone besides Fassel. Read John Clayton's Link, the hints are there. We are all in denial.

Here's the link:

He doesn't provide an explanation for the second Meeks interview. I wonder if he's just not acknowledging Meeks as a valid candidate or if he knows something else.

I read your post in another thread expressing your confident belief in Fassel being our next HC. You could very well be right, but Ron Meeks would be a great choice whether he gets the position or not.

I don't disagree, I'm not a Fassel supporter. You don't assemble a staff and tell a potential coaching candidate, "here's the staff we built for you", now go get 'em!! That's what I'm getting at.

Why would Meeks be a good HC? I know that Indy's D isn't that bad but what else about him makes people think that he can be a HC? Just curious I really don't know a lot about the guy.
