I think we can forget Cowher . No way Cowher coaches a team built by Vinny . Dan better hope the new guy wins right out of the gate .If Fassell is the guy ,,, looks like Collins will leave , now we need 2 backup qb's not to mention a big Wr. I can't see Moss and R. EL holding up all year if they run all those crossing patterns used in the west coast offence .
Ok we have two great back ups right. lol. The kid from Maryland and Palmer. lol. Why not start fresh all around. lol.

[QUOTE=SBXVII Spagnoulo: he coached the D in Philly and prior to that worked under Bobby Beathered in San Diego. not sure if he runs the same defense.
[/QUOTE]
He actually started his NFL career with the Redskins in 1983 working as an intern/gopher for Charlie Casserly.

no one that wants to stand up to snyder is going to get hired. i think that's part of the deal, that you let him run around feeling important and making deals that may or may not be good for the team.
i'm mad with how it's gone down, and outside a surprise deal for cowher or fisher, i don't really understand how this whole episode is going to make the team better or provide stability... cause every year we've made a major change in staffing, we've had a terrible record to show for it.

who wants to come coach a team who had all of snyders guys in place. how can you hire the whole coaching staff without a head coach?
Haven't you learned already that we do things in an unconventional manner here? We're going to get to the mountaintop without the courtesy of a climb. Maybe we'll rent another limosuine ride to take us there.

Not a big deal. Outside of the last 4 games I sure didn't hear too many folks signing Collins' praises. He appears to know Saunders' system but his arm is weak and he sure didn't keep his composure very well against Seattle. Finding a couple backup QBs won't be a big issue. We needed a big WR anyway, but we do have Anthony Mix (6'5"). Branch, Engram and Burleson (all 6' & under) held up pretty well and Seattle's offense did well even without a running game.
By no means were GW & Saunders without flaws, there was many a week those two were getting hammered right here. If Snyder and Cerrato want to go another direction and they are hiring talented coaches, let's give it a chance. The players sure will, they're well paid and under contract.

I mean at this point Cowher is a pipe dream (for this year at least), but if we're talking in hypotheticals of course I'd take The Chin. So that's who I voted for.

Maybe the "guys" just hired were recommended by one or some of the potential HC candidates and Snyder brought them in / re-signed them to show the new HC candidate/s Snyder will give him what he needs/requests.

You've gotta admit that the longer Snyder buys time, the chances of a lucrative, just-can't-refuse offer for Cowher panning out increase exponentially. Strictly odds-speaking here.

I'm gonna vote for Spags here, I see what he's done in Philly and what he did with the Giants d this season and I'll admit I've been impressed. I think a young up and comer is the way to go in this league, I've taken notice of the trend around the league and I think we should go that way too instead of taking some retread from some other team. Schwartz could be a good candidate but I haven't been impressed with his D in Tennessee, I think it's been too inconsistent.

Schwartz or Grimm, I think they should ask Arizona for permission to interview him.Schwartz runs effectively the same D as Williams, both coming from the Buddy Ryan tree of coaches. I hadn't really thought of Grimm, but that would be interesting as well.
