Forgot to mention, if anything GW is honest. He's very self assured and tells it like it is. I'll take GW's side on this.

The irony is that this couldn't happen in a better place: Washington DC. The home of back-room deal-making and smear campaigns.;)

In two shorts weeks, DS and his evil minion Vinny, have destroyed that which carried the team the last third of the season. Team unity and chemistry born from Sean's death, is gone. Now we're hearing terms like "smear campaign." This coaching "search" is under the direct guidance and responsibility of Snyder. He, and he alone, stands to bear the blame as the Washington Redskins, once again, become a laughingstock. Under Gibbs, the team regained credibility and a solid aire of professionalism. With the checks and balance system now gone, Snyder has dismantled all that was built in the previous four years.

An amazing gift really. We're becoming the Raiders-East. Has anyone seen Al Davis and Danny Boy together at the same time? Maybe they ARE the same person.

Please Gregg, hang in there! For the team, for the fans, for the memory of Sean...

The thing is, you can't blame the guy for wanting out. As dysfunctional as it seems the FO is right now, I don't think a lot of people would touch the job with a 10 foot pole.

If all the speculation is true (and that is a bif IF) who is really still a candidate? Do you think the OC from NE is going to take a job where the boss hired an OC already? Or Spags is going to want to come riding into this mess after becoming a hot commodity this post-season? The list is getting shorter and shorter

I wonder if we as fans can sue a team owner for mis-management and embarrassing a franchise and city?

Nope. If that were true the entire city of Baltimore would have filed a class action against Peter Angelos a loooonnnnnggggg time ago.

SOMEONE start a
posting to please FIRE CERRATO. I believe he is behind all of this with the promotion Dan Snyder recently gave him, he is going to screw our team over more. Damn it Snyder, what in the world are you doing to our team. Thank you for the distruction, you will not be forgiven this time. Thank you for not hiring the one man who continued our continuinty in Gregg Williams. Thank you for turning a memorable season into a firestorm aftermath. I have been so angry at you for what you have done to this organization. Class act reporting lies about Gregg Williams too, as if he would bad mouth Joe Gibbs, the man who endorsed him and he wanted to see succeed him. I sincerely hope these are all rumors for your sake. This is dispicable, and a complete deviated lie from what you told us at Gibbs resignation press conference saying that you were happy with the way that things were going and that you wanted to continue the consistency with the personal, coaches and scouts. You will not be trusted again, so you might as well relinguish your ownership rights to the team as we feel betrayed and lied to constantly by you and your minnions. Pathetic, simply pathetic that you would choose this route, as if you would want to hurt the players, coaches and fans. Congrats, you truly stink!!!!!

Snyder firing Cerrato would be like Batman firing Robin -- it's not going to happen.

I'm disappointed. Especially if this stuff about the Redskins creating a smear campaign against Williams is true. GW deserves better than that.

I wonder how Sean Taylor's father feels about his son being a "forever Redskins" now. Snyder is taking every bit of class Joe Gibbs put back into this team and is stomping all over it..... Makes me want to vomit.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

But what do we do when it's shattered?

it seems like an awful lot of people are getting all worked up over nothing. there might be a reason why Williams hasn't been named head coach yet...

I would be disappointed too, if this was true, but the article cites a "a source close to Williams theorized..." It was probably his agent and he and GW are probably pissed that they heard about this in the media before it came direct from Redskins Park (shame on Snyder / Cerrato if that's the case. That's bad business and totally wrong).

Yeah I think that's something to take note of. Honestly, at this point I'm really not sure what to believe.
