Poor Lane Kiffin didnt even have a chance. How do you hire a coach whose job is obviously to turn a team around in the right direction, and put him with a bunch of average players and expect them to make this transition and turn around in one year. Al Davis needs to sell the team or let family handle the business. Lane def wasn't the best choice for coach when signed last year but you still have to at least give him a couple years. The Raiders are definitely a joke. I give credit to the Steelers. It seems they understand how to handle coaching with only their 3rd coach in 30 + years. Shame on you Al Davis. Shame Shame

The rumor is being denied now.

Raiders to interview Lofton; deny Kiffin resignation report (http://www.nfl.com/news/story?id=09000d5d806403c6&template=without-video&confirm=true)

There's definitely tension between Kiffin and Davis. This goes back to Kiffin wanting to get rid of Rob Ryan and Davis overruling him.

I don't know that Mortenson's report is entirely accurate, but I do know there are issues.

Or it could be another case of the MEDIA going crazy gossiping like a bunch of old bags.

Redskin fans need to be cautious here. In some ways, Danny Boy might be the NFL's heir aparent to Al Davis as "the goofy owner". Think about this...

Al Davis used to know football. He coached the Raiders. He was their GM and is still the de facto GM there. And he had the team in a bunch of Super Bowls and won a couple too. Now, he's "losing it" - - to be polite about it - - but he just keeps playing his role as owner/GM/advisor to head coach/etc.

Danny Boy THINKS he knows football. He'll never coach the Redskins - - he wouldn't dare try to do THAT would he? - - but he is the owner and "shadow GM" and draft day advisor (remember Patrick Ramsey) and weekly confidant of the head coaches. Trouble is, he's been around for a decade and hasn't yet sniffed a Super Bowl. What happens when Danny Boy starts "losing it"...?

Snyder may be stupid, but Davis is borderline insane (not to mention senile). As the lesser of two evils, I'll take stupidity before insanity.

Apparently we're worse than the Raiders, because we fired Williams before they fired Kiffin. Good times.
