DynamiteRave 01-25-2008, 11:06 AM Opinion: Brady trying to end debate about best-ever QB - NFL - MSNBC.com (http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22360396/)
The article is a bit old, but it's also front page news on Yahoo.com, analysis love to go back and forth about whether he is the best/is going to be the best.
I don't really have a comment because I don't watch the Pats enough to make a decision. All I know is the guy is going for his 4th Superbowl ring and if keeps this up, he's going to run out of fingers.
Just wanted to let you guys share your opinion.
sancho2613 01-25-2008, 11:25 AM I don't think he is but I can understand why some people think he is... This question would be different to everyone since there's really no wrong answer.... I think if he keeps playing how he's playing now he probably will be but I wouldn't consider him the best QB ever but that's just me.... Yet
Let's just say by the end of his career he will be in the discussion.
scowan 01-25-2008, 11:40 AM How many QB's have won 4 Superbowls? Brady is about to do that. Only Bradshaw comes to mind and the Steelers won with Defense primarily. Brady is putting up ridiculas stats and the Perfect Season is just icing on the cake. I hate the guy, but he will probably be the best ever by the time he is done. He may not own every passing record like Favre, but he will have won more and have more rings. That is how we all measure greatness.
SKINSnCANES 01-25-2008, 11:44 AM Joe Montana won four super bowls, theres an article on espn from last week that lists their opinion of the top qb performances in the super bowl. doug williams was third, all of montana made the top 25 including first. Ill try and find the link, someoen probably put it on the site.
So by Brady breaking Mannings record this year does that end the "Brandy for Manning" argument. Because it used to be Mannings stats vs Bradys rings, now they both have rings, but brady has two more (possibly three), and his stats this year were top notch.
SFREDSKIN 01-25-2008, 12:10 PM I hate the term "best ever". You could say one of the best, from Slinging Sammy Baugh, Johnny U, Terry Bradshaw, Snake Stabler, Dan Marino, Joe Montana, John Elway, Brett Favre, Tom Brady and I know I missed some. How can you say best ever? Some were fortunate to be surrounded by a great team/teams (Montana, Bradshaw) others due to the system, different eras, etc. I would equate them all the same.
dmek25 01-25-2008, 12:11 PM i never really thought about Brady being a top tier qback, until now. he has to be mentioned with the likes of Montana and Bradshaw, if they win it this year. for me, its all about the wins

Was Terry Bradshaw a good QB or just a product or a great team? Im not aruging I just never saw him play.
I was in a job interview the other day and the guy wanted to hire me even though I wasnt an exact fit for the job, and he said "I take the Chuck Knoll approach, Terry Bradshaw wasnt predicted to be a good Qb but he was a great atlete that he made fit into a system. You draft talent not role players"

So you consider Terry Bradshaw one of the best ever because he won four SBs?
Even horrible/mediocre QBs can be on a SB winning team. Trent Dilfer, Brad Johnson, Kurt Warner, Jeff Hostetler, Jim McMahon...
Rex Grossman was on a team that nearly won a SB.
Brady has played on some great teams, but he's nowhere near being up in the class of Unitas, Montana, Elway, Marino and the best ever. At least, yet...
celts32 01-25-2008, 12:20 PM Yes...hands down he is. I give him most of the credit for the Pats. After having 1 winning season out of 5 in Cleveland, Belichek was 5-13 in the 1st 18 games of his coaching tenure with the Pats before Bledsoe got hurt and Brady entered the picture. They became a winning team imediately when Brady got on the field. 3 Super Bowls later and a 4th on the way it is clear that Tom Brady is the best QB of all time and by the time he retires there will be no discussion at all.
