1997 Coach of the Year and he took the Giants to the SB.

You're right, he's no Jason Garrett.Shouldn't the words "fired RAVENS offensive coordinator" ring out louder than anything else he's ever accomplished?
That's right up there with wheelman on the Titanic or Safety Inspector from Chernobyl's Sector 7G.

Rumors that Snyder and Vinny don't really want Al. I hear what you're saying though. Look, Saunders Offense is famous around the NFL for how complex it is. Takes so long to learn. Don't think Zorn is a dummy, he say film and coached against us last year. He would adapt his style for who we have and enhance the passing game. Look how hard they're trying to keep Zorn, that should tell us something, Snyder open those pockets and get your man!

I think the players hate Saunders and would love for him to go and take his 700 page play book with him! I have no problem with him being replaced.

This from the Times:

What gives you pause about Fassel is his failed stint as the Ravens' offensive coordinator from 2004 to mid-'06, his last NFL post. Granted, anybody would have trouble trying to make chicken salad out of Kyle Boller (and a creaky Steve McNair), but it might explain why he wasn't in contention for the other head jobs that came open this year.

Then, too, with a coach, there's always the question of: How much of the success was due to him, and how much was due to the people around him (GM, assistants, players, etc.)? When Fassel went to the Super Bowl seven years ago, his offensive play-caller was Sean Payton and his defensive play-caller was John Fox. Fox, I'll just remind you, guided the Panthers to the Super Bowl in his second season, and Payton took the Saints to the NFC title game in his first try.

Coaching searches are always a crapshoot, especially if, like Snyder, you haven't grown up in the game. Dan's last hire, the sainted Gibbs, was a no-brainer. This one carries a lot more risk. So you play the percentages, pick a former coach with a decent track record — rather than a rising-star assistant who's an even bigger gamble — and hope for the best.

13-3, won division, a record 12 players in the pro-bowl....all in his first year as coach. Name me another head coach who has done that in his first year. I'll wager that you cannot.

Yeah, lost that playoff game, and is 0-4 in the playoffs. But there are tons more that are 0-0 because they never been there. I am sure there are former Skins coaches who have 4 playoff losses on their resume as well. But that does not make them chumps.

Marty Schottenhiemer is a great coach, but has his share of playoff woes, does that make him a chump?

I just remind myself of the 2004 Steelers, 15-1 regular season, lost at home just like Dallas, one and done in the playoffs. The following year they won the Super Bowl. Then there is the 2005 Colts, 14-2 regular season, one and done in the playoffs. Following year...won the Super Bowl. Lest we forget the 2006 Chargers....14-2 regular season....one and done in the playoffs. Following year....played in the AFC Championship. It is that type of reasoning that keeps my hopes up. That and Dallas is the 4th youngest team in the NFL, so the core group of players they have will be in a Cowboys uniform for a long time.

Now is Wade the second coming of Parcells, or Bellichick? No, but he is not a chump.

Let's just clarify a bit. Marty is a good coach, but his dismal postseason record is definitely a big blemish on his resume.

If the Cowboys take another early playoff exit next year, then would you start placing Wade in the chump category?

He may not, but another 1 and done from Wade and Jerry Jones will warm up the Garrett bandwagon...

Sure it might be on a free host but the domain name had to have been purchased.

Yeah, they spent a whole $7 on it. In other words, a beer at FedEx. Give me a break, I can't decide what's worse, the people screaming about selling their season tickets, or the people getting so self-righteous about THOSE people.

Even WaPo has characterized the fan reaction as overwhelmingly negative. According to them, most people want Williams and at the very least want nothing to do with Fassel. At a certain point you'll have to deal with the fact that it's not just a handful of stupid morons who disagree with you and do not want anything to do with Fassel.

Nope. As I said, the Cowboys are the 4th youngest team in the NFL, you can credit playoff inexperience as much as anything. But the age of his team is not a reflection of the coach.

Now if Wade was to do something like call consecutive timeouts, that is another story.

Hey Parcells was 0-2 in the playoffs in Dallas, so is he a chump? Nope, his Hall of Fame speech is written. In the salary cap era, Joe Gibbs had twice as many playoff losses as wins, but is he in the "chump" category? Nope.
