Somehow, this just does not seem to have the flavor of Joe Gibbs influence.
Coaching Rumor on SportsTalk 980Longtimefan 01-23-2008, 03:44 PM Somehow, this just does not seem to have the flavor of Joe Gibbs influence. Redskins_P 01-23-2008, 03:46 PM It looks like the Skins contacted the Seahawks earlier this week to interview their QB coach Jim Zorn. Redskins are interviewing Seattle Qb coach Jim Zorn for an offensive coordinator position, according to league sources. The Redskins asked premission to talk to him this week - again not the head coaching job Here's more from JLC's blog: Redskins Insider (http://blog.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider/) QBall 01-23-2008, 03:47 PM He has NFC East experience and has taken that experience to the SuperBowl. 12thMan 01-23-2008, 03:48 PM He has NFC East experience and has taken that experience to the SuperBowl. How many years ago was that he went to the Super Bowl? Here's a guy that got fired by his best friend, by the way. onlydarksets 01-23-2008, 03:50 PM More recently than any of the other coaches on the list. Of course, that was the perfect storm for the Giants, and if we had one more win, it likely could have been us in the Super Bowl that year. QBall 01-23-2008, 03:58 PM How many years ago was that he went to the Super Bowl? Here's a guy that got fired by his best friend, by the way. Fassel is a tough hardnosed guy, not a good coordinator. I'm just saying in two weeks we traded Gibbs for Fassel if this goes down. OUCH!!!!! SmootSmack 01-23-2008, 04:01 PM How many years ago was that he went to the Super Bowl? Here's a guy that got fired by his best friend, by the way. Brian Billick would fire his own mother. Soup's Uncle 01-23-2008, 04:04 PM If this is true, then I see this as Dan Snyder really not caring what his fans/players think...he really doesn't. Sheriff Gonna Getcha 01-23-2008, 04:07 PM I will NEVER jump off the Redskins bandwagon, but, if true, I don't like the move. So pretty much the entire coaching staff wants GW, the players wants GW, the owner preaches about the importance of continuity, and yet we hire a new guy who will likely fire many of the coaches and want to make significant changes to the roster? I can't quite follow that logic. The only way this move will make sense is if Williams and Saunders remain on the staff as the defensive and offensive coordinators, respectively. SouperMeister 01-23-2008, 04:09 PM if this is true, i don't think i'll be joining alot of you in the mass bandwagon jump. fassel is a questionable hire. but i'm hesitant to call it a bad one. if it is true, let's at least wait to see what kind of staff he assembles.Great point. Frankly, I'd like to see Williams stick around as D-coordinator if Fassel would have him. What I don't want to see is The Danny throwing draft picks like confetti to Baltimore as compensation for Rex Ryan as DC. |
