According to JLC's latest post on Insider, the Redskins assistants in Mobile for the Senior Bowl are getting ragged on by other team's coaches. Calling the Skins approach a "laughingstock." Great. Apparently our coaches are "up in arms," and distraught over this process and the lack of communication from the team. Anyone else think it's pretty lame that our front office hasn't even given our assistants the courtesy of a phone call during this head coach search? I know "freak out" threads are frowned upon, and that's not the intention here. But I'm pretty upset with the way we're treating our staff.

Clipped this from the post:
Players and coaches are distraught over the poorly worded press release regarding Cerrato's promotion and Jim Fassel's emergence as a candidate with multiple interviews. They are taking a lot of grief from other team''s people down there and, according to some league sources, the word "laughingstock" is being thrown around in regards to how the team is operating.

Well that's just great to hear. I'm really missing Gibbs right now.:(

Well, the longer this drags out, rightfully or not, it's starting to become a PR nightmare.

I guess a phone call would be nice but what needs to be said that's not already known?

"Hey coach, we're still looking for a head coach. Talk to you later, bye."

Does not make sense to me how they could say that. Sounds to me that lines of responsibility were clearly drawn with the promotion and that is a step in the the right direction.

I still think that one of the reasons why no "clear-cut" candidate has been identified is that candidate may still be on the staff of either the Patriots or Giants. Remember, that we are only allowed to hear only what the media wants us to hear. Take it with a grain of salt, but move on. Snyder may be waiting to talk to coaches from those staffs. Steve Spagnoulo of the Giants comes to mind.

I may be wrong, but I think I am right in saying that Snyder is going about the process carefully and methodically to get just the right person for the job, the best one available.

I would think he would like those lines of responsibility drawn prior to hiring a HC. IT just makes sense is all.

The fact is Snyder can't win no matter what he does.

What are our assistants little babies? LOL this is so stupid. I guess we should speed up the coaching process so our assistants feelings don't get hurt loll.

This is just general playground talk that always happens. It happens for employees of regular companies at conventions, students in schools where the teachers/dept is under some kind of trouble/change, etc etc.

Thanks JLC for making our fans freakout even more for no absolute reason.

Not true. Snyder won when he hired Gibbs and Snyder won when he appeared to understand that continuity and building through youth would benefit this organization. Where he loses is when he forgets about Danny 2.0 and reverts to the flaws of Danny 1.0.

He "won" when he brought Gibbs back. He also did a great job with the handling of Sean's death. He's obviously not a bad guy, but he's convinced he knows what's best for the team, and history proves otherwise for the most part.

I'm just sick thinking of our coaches working hard down there in Mobile and being mocked by other team's coaches. Ugh. Poor guys.
