Great at developing QB's. That's just hilarious. How on earth would anyone have a clue as to whether this guy can develop a QB or not. If you think he can take any credit for Tom Brady you must be joking.

I do like the fact that you come up with an idea for some young innovative person, but how could anyone have a clue if this guy really has anything original to offer or do we just want to try and steal the Patriots playbook because this guy isn't the architect of anything.

Josh McDaniels enters his seventh NFL season and his seventh season in New England. [quote]

Pats playbook looking pretty damn good right about now, he has been with the team since 01 and Gibbs was under Coryell, as Reid was under Holmgren sometimes great coaches are behind great coaches they just need a chance and pretty much anything is looking better than fassell

Few problems with Josh McDaniels:
1. Patriots will never allow him to interview for a lateral move (if we give him an added title like assistant head coach or something he would just get a similar title there). And while a young innovative coach is a good idea I think 30 is too young for a head coach.

2. Tom Brady. He was great under Weiss and has improved each year since he left, but would you credit Tom Moore for Peyton's numbers? IMO that explosive offense has more to do with Brady than McDaniels.

3. It takes a unique (weak-willed) coach to allow an owner to sign an OC that he doesn't know and hasn't worked with (Wade Phillips). Why castrate GW or Fossil before they are even hired?

4. If you want a young and hungry coach who knows the offense but will make his own mark on it, look at Bill Lazor as OC. Similar to McDaniels, he worked as the QB coach under the OC and has worked closely with JC.

agreed i want GW to be our next head coach, but supposedly Saunders is the odd man out. if that is true who would we want to run the offense? Don Breaux? Hopefully alot of questions are answered soon, so the speculation can be silenced.

I think you answered part of it when you said they have Brady and we have JC. It is became quite clear that our O players know this O but JC was still behind in learning the system and that could be a combination of 2 things. He is a young QB still learning how to play in the NFL or he has just not learned his system.

He may not be the right guy for the head coach job or for any job right now, but we should at the very least give him an interview, unless its soooooooooooooooo important to hire fassel right now.

I cleaned up the thread title.
