Redskins_P 01-18-2008, 02:46 PM I've asked this before but did not get an answer. You say most players and coaches have endorsed GW so please provide a link which proves this to be true. I know a few are on record as backing GW but I have not seen anywhere that all these players are on record for GW.
I don't have links. I go by what I see on the local news here when the players are interviewed. Plus, I'm sure almost EVERYONE on this board knows that most of the players have endorsed GW.
Why do you find it so hard to believe?

I heard the same thing. Noone knows what's going on inside Redskins Park, but what we all can see EVERYONE wants Williams.

Thats my point what players? I have only heard of a few that have come out and supported GW. I'm not saying that they want another head coach I'm just stating that I have not heard of this larg number of players coming out and saying that they support him. I have read a bunch of post here where people say that all the players want GW but no one can give any links to who all these players are. I think its more of a rumor here that he has all these players supporting him. I do not find it hard to believe but I just have not seen it. Like I said they are at home and not at Redskin part so not hearing from them is pretty much a given.
BDBohnzie 01-18-2008, 04:04 PM Check out JLC's Redskins Insider blog (Redskins Insider (http://blog.washingtonpost.com/redskinsinsider)). Don't quote me, but I don't think there is a single player he's talked to since Gibbs' retirement that hasn't endorsed GW.

Read any article from Redskins.com or any of LaCanfora's blogs on the Washington Post...every player interviewed, whether he was asked or not, supported GW...I'm not going to post all of their quotes...but its pretty clear they want him as coach

Like I said, I've seen it on TV on the local news and comcast sportsnet. I can't really get you any links obviously because it was on TV!!!
So far, I've heard: Rock Cartwright, Chris Cooley, Chris Samuels, Pierson Prioleau, Philip Daniels, London Fletcher, ARE, Mike Sellars...
It would be ridiculous to go and post a whole bunch of links just to satisfy you.

MORA WITHDRAWS NAME FROM D.C. COACH SEARCH
Adam Schefter of NFL (http://www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm#) Network reports that Seahawks assistant coach Jim Mora has withdrawn his name from consideration for the vacant head-coaching position with the Washington Redskins.
Mora, who coached the Falcons to a 27-23 record in three seasons with the team, widely is regarded as the hand-picked candidate to succeed Mike Holmgren in Seattle once Holmgren retires. Today's development could mean that Holmgre, 60, has decided to retire now. Alternatively, it could be that Mora has received a Jim Caldwell-style style promise that, upon Holmgren's retirement (whenever it may happen) Mora will take over.
Under the Rooney Rule, it's permissible for a team to have an advance agreement with an assistant coach to become the head coach at some specific point in the future. As NFL spokesman Greg Aiello confirmed to us by e-mail on Friday afternoon, such a commitment does not constitute a violation of the rule, if the promise is contained in the assistant coach's contract.
Skinny Tee 01-18-2008, 04:17 PM I have to say that I happy because out of all the candidates he's is the one that least wanted.

I don't need links I believe what you are saying. The only reason I even ask is because I keep hearing people saying that the players back him but I personaly had only seen a couple. I was just curious if it was true or something that just keeps getting repeated on here like fact.

It looks like Holgren is retiring after all.
