The simple answer is that the players who will bring you either high draft picks or multiple draft picks are exactly the ones you really don't want to trade. :twocents:
Do we have anyone we can off-load for Picks.sportscurmudgeon 01-18-2008, 11:30 PM The simple answer is that the players who will bring you either high draft picks or multiple draft picks are exactly the ones you really don't want to trade. :twocents: htownskinfan 01-18-2008, 11:38 PM lol - we'd be lucky to get an 8th round pick for Brunell. thats not true, could it be possible that theres maybe another coach out there that sees in Brunell what Gibbs saw in him and will give up a number 1 pick for him? :yeahright  Luxorreb 01-19-2008, 08:11 AM I say trading Rogers would be a smart move and free up space to get another early round CB and/ or S or signing someone like FA Asanti Samuel. Rogers has played poor, has a serious injury and in my opinion isn't as physical as he needs to be to handle #1 or #2 NFL WR's. And well every receiver in the league burns him. Repeatedly. Noone gonna trade for Brunell or Lloyd or Wade. I just hope we can keep Sellers for atleast 1-2 more seasons. He compliments our running backs very well. I miss GIbbs already... That Guy 01-19-2008, 01:51 PM give us your best players for the garbage we're going to cut anyways. roger's is good enough to be a #2 or #3, and he knows the system and the players, so we might as well keep him until we're sure we've got something better in house. MTRedskinsFan 01-19-2008, 01:55 PM Like the rest of ya I don't see much trade value on our roster to acquire a nice draft pick. The possibility (outside of trading JC which would be dumb as hell) of a trade for Portis and an o-lineman (I would prefer trading JJ) could garner some value in certain scenarios. CP is an awesome back for any young qb in the league because he protects so damn well and does all kinds of things to help his qb out. And JJ is a vet lineman. I don't know how I would feel about losing Portis. I like Betts more and more so if we started to hear good things about Mason then I suppose a trade for a nice pick would be ok (no lower than 2nd round). But... does anyone else wonder if the events of last season somehow lower the value of the guys on our roster? I'm thinking about how other organizations might be unsure of a guy who was real close to Sean but no longer wears the burgandy and gold. I sort feel like our guys are real Redskins (except for B. Lloyd) and I hope we just acquire the talent we need through the draft. Master4Caster 01-19-2008, 08:41 PM You mean besides CAmpbell, Cooley, Portis, Moss, Samuels, Washington and Landry? I don't think we would get a high draft pick for any of our other players. Besides, real GMs know that you can get solid role players with low draft picks and undrafted free agents, along with a few well selected veteran free agents. They don't have to trade. There's always the option of trading down the first round pick for a second and third round pick. That was a big topic last year. I think the front office made some calls last year and found no takers. But, may as well start up the talk now! halodoc 02-20-2008, 02:37 PM only one i see us possiable trading is s.moss. because of his vaule ,cap # , and us looking for a more " west coast " wr. we could get an early 2nd this year and alittle something else either a 3rd or 4th this yr or next or a player. the chefs ,falcons ,raiders ,ravens ,bills and 49ers all have top 10 picks in the 2nd rnd and major need of a wr. and atleast one of thouse teams would want a proven comditte over a rookie.the bills have the 71st and 72 pick in the 3rd rnd and proberly would give on of thouse aswell. kcs been trying to dump lb k.bell and atl is trying to move deanglo hall.but of course to get hall it would proberly be moss and are 1st for hall and there 2 -or something to that affect. or the rav giving up t.suggs for moss and are 1st is another possiablity. i just think if where able to move anyone itll be moss. maybe even switching 1st rnd picks with the vikings and getting there 2nd this yr and a 3rd next.moss can be moved because of team needs ,bad free agent market on wr (r moss proberly resign and then theres b berrian and pretty much nobody)and teams getting tired of drafting a wr in the 1st rnd and them turning into bust (exspecally vik and atl). and the wr in this yrs draft class have potental bust written all over them. out of m kelly ,des jackson ,l sweed ,j hardy ,m mangim ,and e doucet (all possiable 1st rnders) ,i see half of them becoming bust. your next rashan woods ,troy edwards ,troy williamson ,charles johnson ,mike williams ,reggie williams ,sinorice moss ,ect .and if the skins really plan on bringing in a west coast wr to possiable be are #1 wr ,we cant have all that money tied up intowr and that many wr on the roster. and cant cut r el or llyod cause it would cost us to much. GTripp0012 02-20-2008, 02:52 PM McCardell, Collins, Springs, Moss? Two of those guys aren't under contract, and Moss' value isn't very high right now. Someone would be interested in Springs, but we'd be lucky to land a 6th rounder for a 33 year old corner. So, yes, we can get picks for our players, but we'd be on the losing side of the deal. Skins4Life101 02-20-2008, 02:58 PM Ledell Betts. Montgomery maybe... and I'd say Randle El |
