Green is a lock. Grimm has a better chance than Monk. Honestly do not think Monk will get in.

I think that Green should be a lock. Then again, I also thought Art Monk was a lock as well. I think that the Football writers are a fickle group. Once they have their mind made up, it seems awfully hard to change their minds. Although, Peter King said he changed his mind about Art Monk and said that he voted for him the last time. So I guess there is hope afterall.

Judging by list of candidates, I think that monk has an excellent shot this year. The only player that I feel that is a so-called lock this year is Cris Carter. I think that Monk shoudl be able to get in this year along with Darrell Green. If they got in Russ Grimm that would be the ultimate. I don't know if it will happen, but that would be awesome all the same.

Most of us have always felt like Monk should have been first ballot Hall of Famer, hopefully this year will not be another let down. If Green could get in with Monk that would be sweet!!

Five or fewer (http://www.profootballhof.com/hof/SelectionProcessFAQ.jsp):
In advance of the Hall of Fame Selection Meeting in February, the selectors are provided detailed biographies on each of the 17 finalist candidates. At the annual meeting, each of the nominees is thoroughly discussed by the committee before a series of reduction votes are taken. First, the two senior candidates are discussed and voted on for election. They must receive the same 80 percent affirmative vote as the modern-era candidates. Next, the there is a vote that reduces the modern-era finalists list from 15 to 10. Following that, a vote is taken to reduce the list from 10 to 5 names. The five remaining candidates for Hall of Fame election are then voted on individually (yes or no) for membership.

In order to be elected a finalist must receive a minimum of 80% of the vote.
