Legitimate question, I think. Sure the Cowboys had a better record, but did they have a better season. Or are they one in the same.

If I were standing by being objective and a fan of either team, I would be more encouraged by the way the Washington Redskins finished, the overall sense of cohesion of the team than the Dallas Cowboys and how their playoff run ended.

I guess the real question is, if each team is one and done in the playoffs, who had the better season?

You guys care to weigh in?

We both played one game and we were out they just had a bye week. But I agree, if having to look at both team just off the pure emotional rollercoaster the skins had this year you wouldn't think we would make the playoffs. Plus we went out on a win streak coming into the playoffs unlike Dallas.

yea i think we finished the year better, but depending on who becomes our coach, they might finish the season better as in having an attact team with a full coaching staff

Well the end result was the same for both teams. Dallas played better football throughout the year and the skins ended on a stronger run. Dallas won the games that we lost so I'll have to give them the edge.

Ok there are two things to look at here: Performance during the regular season and performance in the post-season.

The Cowboys went 13-3 yes but they played down to the competition in almost every game they should have won handily. They were whipped up and down the field against the Bills on Monday Night and won on a series of events that realistically has probably a 5% chance of happening. Also, if you noticed once Tony Romo signed his new contract his play seemed to decrease dramatically as well, compiled on the fact that they are the first NFC number 1 seed to get bounced in the divisional round of the playoffs since the NFL went to a 12 team playoff in 1990 and seeing what the Skins accomplished this season after all the injuries, the death of Sean Taylor, and what they were expected to do I would hjave to say that the Redskins had the better season.

Our season was better because we rose from the ashes. They crashed and burned.

Season: Cowboys
Finish: Skins (we beat em)
If the rationale is any team who doesn't win it all is tied for second and we have a better draft pick (though the boys have the Browns #1 which is higher than our 21) than yes our year is slightly better. Otherwise you have two playoff losers. No better or worse than Bucs or Colts in my opinion.

Dallas pretty much has every advantage in the comparision EXCEPT how they stack up for the future. They had the better 07, but things are looking good for us in 08 and 09.

So you're saying (and I'm just asking for clarity) that because of how we finished we '07, we have more to be encouraged about in '08/09?

But from top to bottom, the Cowboys had a better 2007 season?

Is this a silly argument?
