Lets see manning is 7-6 in the playoffs, counting the superbowl but the difference he has never bobbled the snap of a 10 yard FG for the game winner. Romo may not be a choke artist but flying down to mexico with your girlfriend the week before the big game is no way of increasing your chances of victory. Peyton, or Brady would never do that.

You took what I said a little out of context. The major discussion is whether or not it is too soon to call Romo a choke artist. My answer is yes it is premature. I used Peyton as an example of a guy who always got crap for not winning playoff games consistently. I am not saying that Romo is Peyton, but it is too early to tell who will have the better career when it is all over. The vacation issue that you brought up has no bearing on the thread question. Going on vacation does not earn you the label of "choker". It just means that you may have questionable work ethic or priorities. Either way it is not my place to decide. That is between him, his co-workers, and his boss; and has zero relevance to this conversation.

If romo had come out and blew this game, I'd say we'd have a case to call him a choker, but that's not what happened. Not even close. He played well. Definitely well enough to win. It's not his job to catch passes or pass block. Or call the plays. How Garrett got away from running the ball in the second half, I'll never know. I'm supremely happy they lost, but I don't lay this on Romo. THe int was with 10 seconds left when he had to force it. At that point, he was counting on a receiver to make a play and, just as they had all day, they failed.

Regarding Romo and Simpson:

If his girlfriend was any anonymous woman, no one would have even cared that he was in Cabo. If anyone did find out they probably would've been happy because he took Witten and some other teammate along with him after being told by coach to get away from the game for a week. This b.s. is all smoke, no fire.

He had a couple dropped passes, but still, 50% completion percentage? He didn't play that well at all. Most of those completions were for short gains too.

yeah, but how many of those incompletions were drops or throwing off his back foot because he had a Giant's Dlineman in his face. He was under duress the entire 2nd half after the giants wore down his o line. Don't get me wrong, he's still a douche but I don't think he choked.

I'm starting to agree with GTripp on this one. This thread is...(Schneed?)

Yeah but this isn't something you evaluate with numbers. Romo's career is so young, and he's played only two playoff games. So looking at stats obviously isn't going to tell you much. What we do know, though, is that Tony Romo has started off the last two seasons absolutely red hot, but then played like asscrack coming down the stretch. He's not a choke artist because of his playoff performances, he's a choke artist because:

1) His December performances have been awful.

2) Like Matty said, he was not acting one bit like a leader in the 4th quarter yesterday. He was bitching at his guys. He was panicking. He was playing frantically. There was no poise whatsoever, no confident calm to his demeanor. You can just tell by looking at the guy - he's a decent QB with decent talent - but he has no intangibles. He's got an unorthodox delivery and a gunslinger's mentality just like Brett Favre, but none of Favre's take-charge leadership. That doesn't reflect in the numbers, you can only see that by watching the game and paying attention to human behavior.

So far in his young career, he's definitely a choke artist. He's got plenty of time to turn that around, but I honestly don't like his chances in the NEXT heat of the moment - he's just not a leader.

0-2 in the playoffs, a 13-3 team gets bounced from the divisional round, what do you think?

Does Romo = choker?\

STUPID THREAD. Why is it that most of the Redskin fans just don't like Romo and Brady? I think it's personal just cause they date hot women, they are good at what they do and they are good looking guys. Personally I don't think Romo is all that good looking, but that's me. A long time ago we had a QB just like these guys. His name was Joe Thiesmann.

Did you actually watch the game? If so how can you call Romo a choker? The guy was under serious pressure all game long. Give the Giants some credit cause they can rush the passer with their front 4. What about throwing some blame to Crayton for dropping a potential TD? What about Jason Garrett who IMO called a shitty game and seemed to go away from the running game? I'm with TO on this one. It's a total team loss!

I agree with most of what you said,I dont think romo played well, but I dont think he choked,he was on his back most of the 2nd half.
Your probably right that no one would have cared if his girlfriend was anonymous, but she wasnt,he knew that,he knew about the critisism he got from the eagles game,he should have known better
