I dont want anyone over GW but i wont be upset with schwartz
May the Schwartz be with you?Campbell17 01-10-2008, 02:39 PM I dont want anyone over GW but i wont be upset with schwartz Schneed10 01-10-2008, 02:39 PM If you hire Schwartz and Williams leaves, you at least have some semblance of continuity since you're using the same system. Though you certainly lose Jerry Gray as your secondary coach if Grilliams leaves. But you're still in the end, running a system congruent with the roster we have (and will have for the next three years). The real kicker will be if Saunders leaves. If Saunders jets, we'll be starting over on offense. Which would TOTALLY kill us. Then again, Saunders makes a lot of coin, so if he's not up for a HC job, he'll probably stay. redsk1 01-10-2008, 02:44 PM If GW doesn't get the job, i'd give it about a 5% chance he'd stay as D coord. I know nothing about Jim Schwartz at all. Matter of fact i've never even heard of him til now. Why would you go after apprentice when you can have the mentor though? freddyg12 01-10-2008, 02:46 PM Maybe the Danny is orchestrating the hiring of the staff before the HC. Maybe Schwartz will become d coordinator w/GW as head coach. I could live w/that. GottaBigButt 01-10-2008, 02:47 PM Some league sources have suggested Seattle defensive backs coach Jim Mora, a former head coach in Atlanta, as a possibility for the Redskins as well at some point Oh please, please, please, please... JoeRedskin 01-10-2008, 02:48 PM Another bio: Titans Radio: Titans Defensive Coordinator Jim Schwartz (http://www.titansradio.com/coaches/schwartz.html) Interesting that he spent time as a scout. And, obviously, he is not an individual who will satisfy the Rooney Rule. freddyg12 01-10-2008, 02:50 PM All the stuff about letting the coaches know and giving them indications blah blah blah is garbage...Unless they want to get their butts sued, they can't go around saying we're interviewing x number of candidates but *wink* *wink* we already have our man True, but from the last paragraph of JLC's blog, I don't take it that way. It sounds like DS hasn't even communicated w/the coaches, which is a far cry from telling someone they have the job. Seems if you knew who you wanted to hire, you'd at least have the proffessional courtesy to communicate something to them when they're currently on your pay roll. As I recall, they got slammed. I don't remember, however, if Matt "I was a teenage GM" Millen even interviewed a minority candidate. BTW - with the various openings, I find it interesting that one of last years hot coaches is not even being mentioned - Rob Rivera. I wonder why that is, especially since he seems to fit the Rooney Rule. lespaul 01-10-2008, 02:54 PM True, but from the last paragraph of JLC's blog, I don't take it that way. If Gibbs is going to be Snyder's advisor, start advising already. Well there is always a chance Gibbs don't want GW to get the gig,but that's hard to fathom. I guess we will just have to continue to pull our hair out and wait and see. 70Chip 01-10-2008, 02:55 PM I'm seriously wondering if the text of the Rooney Rule says "minority" or "African-American" or what? I can't find any actual text and all the articles I've read use the two terms interchangably as if they meant exactly the same thing. A little help? |
