Not really any news here sense his family owns the business and he can work along side of his son. I don't think he will take a major role in running the team more like giving advise and doing PR work to promote the company. If you think about PR work for a Co. what else would be better than to have JG three time SB winner and HOF coach as the face of that co.

You've got to be kidding.....?

Being that is HIS family business & hes running new cars this year, chances are probably around 100%!

I thought he was "spending more time with his family," this is like turning your back on the team.

Completely disagree. The NASCAR venture, at which he's been extremely successful, is something that brings him closer to family. And since the Charlotte/Huntersville area is the "hub of stock car racing," Joe won't have to make much expense to travel to the race shop and offices.

All I have to say is: "Go Dale Jr!" I wonder how Earnhardt felt about Gibbs' retirement, since he's an ardent fan of the team.
