The similarity ends with Jason Garrett. He is the true difference maker from a coaching standpoint. We (hopefully) keep Saunders, so our same system is in place where Dallas has a new system.

I might get beat up for saying this, but compare our team to last years Dallas.

Dallas 06 and Washington 07 were both:
-9-7 in the regular season
-lost first round playoff game to Seattle
-old coach left the team
-new coach (lets assume GW) steps in

Leads to:
-13-3 record
-breakthrough season for QB
-4-2 in division
-consistent victories

Thoughts??

Sounds like the old Lincoln/Kennedy presidency similarities. I would be very happy should it come to fruition though....13-3 with a bye/home playoff game sounds sweet 12 months from now.

Well, I love the omens, but thus far, none of them have come true. Like How the Skins in Gibbs 2nd season won it all.
I love the speculation, and of course I will root for it, but things just haven't worked for us like that.

This will only come true if our new head coach, quarterback, and owner all show up in a crappy Pepsi Max commerical with Maui from season 2 of The Wire pretending to be our OC.

Speaking of that commercial, what the f*ck was Jones thinking?

"You take those, I'll take these."

I hope that's supposed to be funny, because could you imagine Snyder doing that to Saunders?

LOL! Nice.

By the way, an interesting thing about that commercial is the change they made to the original. In the original, Jones grabs the headphones and says, "C'mon, do I have to do everything around here?" For some reason they changed it to him tossing the bottle and saying, "You take this, I'll take these." Not sure why they made the change, or why I'm wasting time pointing out that they did.

I really, really hate it whe comparisons are made of our team to a 40 year old franchise. Our B&G is over 70 years old and is rich in history and glory!

I seriously doubt many dallas fans can sing all of the words to their fight song!

Maybe hate is not strong enough for those cow-not-quite-men!

They are simply not worthy!

I would be surprised if it holds true but what else can we talk about when we are 8 months from the opening day.

however, just to put it out there. The cowboys are in an EXTREMELY better position than we are right now.
They have something like 18 of their 22 starters at under 30 and we have only 10. They are 20 million under the cap and we are 20 million over the cap next year. They have 2 first round picks.

On top of all that is the obvious; they won 13 games. Looking good for the cowbitches right now.

Have to concur here. Forget all the eerie similarity stuff. Too many folks thought we were SB bound in '05, then '06, etc based on stuff they dug up. Looking for patterns and into the past has proven pointless. Every year is different and every franchise is not the same, meaning they are dealing with different circumstances. Just have to wait for the free agency period and the draft til you can even begin to get a pulse on '08.
