i still don't see cinncy being stupid enough to let him go, but it's nice to think about.

If we could get him (which I doubt for a number of reasons) then I fail to see how this guy could not improve the team. He is consistently elite and has a few good years left yet given his conditioning. All those worried about his attitude need only look at TO and Moss to see that it is well worth the risk. I remember a similar thread last year about trying to acquire TO which many felt would be a disaster. TO arguably may not have been as successful for the skins as the girls but I for one wish we had taken the risk.

If it is a question of CJ or an elite DE, one or the other, then by all means go for the DE. However, I don't think that is the case and if we can get CJ then we should. We would certainly be explosive and entertaining to watch.

If the skins get him I think it would be a quick fix but overall a bad move. Jason Campbell is still trying to find his groove in the NFL while Chad is wanting the ball all the time. If he were to sign with the skins, he wouldn't get enough balls thrown his way which will eventually hurt the team. What the skins really need to do is to go to draft and start fresh. I know, it will be hard, but snyder made the skins horrible by trying to get all of the players that had one good to great year and hoping that every year that they play for the skins they will be unbelievable. But it doesn't really work that way. You have to start from the draft and use your good coaching to make them a great player.

The only thing that could snag CJ would be something crazy like Santana Moss and a 1st round pick. With our priorities elsewhere... I can't endorse something this extreme.

I thought he was a FA this year?

if you've got CJ, moss, cooley, ARE, and portis out there at the same time, who are you going to leave in single coverage?
I agree, it's great in theory, but how many good players will need to be cut to afford him?

cinncy had a BAD year and he still got 1400+ yards. he's a true impact player.

How exactly did Cincy have a BAD year...in caps no less?
They went 7-9, which isn't great...however, they were top 10 in offense in the NFL. They also had the 7th ranked passing game in the NFL. That's not too shabby at all. Thier problems were not in the passing game at all, it was thier running game (24th ranked), and Defense (27th ranked). So he got 1400+ yards in a top ranked passing offense which is not surprising.

Point still remains, we can't afford him.
