That's right SFREDSKIN 01-10-2008, 01:20 PM From what I can tell, the Redskins have everything, but a forth round pick. You are right, read bottom of article. Redskins to Pick 21st In Draft (http://www.redskins.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=33961) halodoc 01-10-2008, 01:28 PM i agree with both hijink and angryssg. also being a patriots fan i see how a teaM Is supposed to run a draft.by getting players that fit your schemes ,smart players who are verstile and can play multiple pos so when (not if) your star players go down thers someone to help fill that now weak link. but if theres players on there board ranked about the same and one would add depth and theother could possable start ,then you take the starter. but if were talking needs of the redkins for free agency or draft then it goes to d linemen and o linemen and depth on both. if you dont have a line you cant do anytihng ,look at the cards aand lions (on both sides of the ball). they have alot of talented players that can only do so much because they either apply no pressure or have no time before the def is in there backfield. so we gotta start there ,i mean i would like another wr m.monk ( arknas) or g.carr (flordia state) or a db like k.phillips (mami) or aqip talib (kansas) but the lines depth is the most vital. TheMeatLoafCabana24 01-11-2008, 09:03 AM what the skins need is a good o-linemen. the skins o-line is getting a little old and that line is what determines ball games. If the line sucks, you are going to lose 11-12 games. TheMeatLoafCabana24 01-11-2008, 09:07 AM but the question is do you go for an offensive linemen (who pretty much all the time are questionable about their performance in their first year), or do you take a DE who will most likely make an immediate impact. TheMalcolmConnection 01-11-2008, 09:34 AM DEs most often take at least one or two years of experience to make an immediate impact. Even Mario Williams who is tearing it up now, wasn't much of a factor his first season. singlewing 01-12-2008, 02:34 PM Why not take a cornerback with #1 pick? Why did we give #4 for TJ Duckett? Defensewins 01-12-2008, 03:25 PM We got Duckett because at the time Portis had just separated his shoulder and the time we did not know if Betts could stay healthy. The FO felt we need a backup in case Portis was out for a while and Betts did not pan out. Well Betts panned out. In terms of the draft: The best big man available, offense or defense. When you control the line of scrimmage it makes everything else easier. I would be happy if we spent every one of our picks on lineman. holcknowsbest 01-12-2008, 05:07 PM corner with out a doubt! even if we restructure and sign springs....springs and smoot played good down the stretch. rogers will not be ready or at least 100% until 2009. but i cant help but think that if we get corners playing in our nickle packages instead of safeties we are better off because this league is shifting to a pass happy league. the more guys who can cover the more balanced of a defense you can have, the more aggressive you can be. it just makes too much sense. i think unless we are going to do something drastic and trade up to get chris long(best player in the draft) then we go corner. WaldSkins 01-12-2008, 05:57 PM with the first pick the redskins should trade down to pick up additional picks |
