Well I'd debate you on Rogers being a good pick, I think we completely botched that offseason which led us to over-drafting for need (hand of stone Rogers) rather than best player available (Ware or Merriman).. Rogers has still done nothing IMO to justify his draft status/position.

Who would you compare Devin Thomas, Malcolm Kelly or Limas Sweed to in the NFL?

I wouldn't compare them to anyone because I haven't seen them play a single snap in the NFL. Just like Bill Parcells will not use a 1st round pick on a RB, I do not believe in using one on WR.

On a side note if Rogers can rehab to the level he was playing at, then he was worth the pick. If not, then it was a waste, but only because of a career ending injury.

I realize of course, that you opinion differs and that Rogers hasn't done much, but even with that said, the Skins have drafted more quality DB's than WR's in the first round.

So you just don't think WR should be picked in the 1st round period then? Yeah, we just disagree on Rogers. I think he's a complete waste of a 1st round pick but to your overall point, I agree we drafted more quality DB than WR in the 1st round.

As a general rule, its more of a guideline that I use, but who the hell am I? Of course there is always an excecption to the rule, however there is not a prospect close to that in this years draft. Braylon Edwads was the last 1st round reciever to actually impress me enough to consider breaking my rule for. Before that I cannot remember.

Calvin Johnson?

No, go back to last years draft posts. I was 100% against Calvin Johnson and still believe that to this day. I even got in trouble because of my signature at the time. And Braylon was before Calvin, not the other way around.

True, but i have to disagree. I think johnson is an absolute phreak (with a ph) and is gonna eventually assert his will on the NFL when he gets a few years under his belt

Larry Fitzgerald had 750 yards his first year. Johnson had 700+ yards himself last year. If he didn't have to share the rock so much then his numbers would have been better. Just because he didn't have 1,000 yards last year doesn't mean he's a bust. In fact he's poised for a breakout year, assuming he stays healthy, in part because the OC wants to make him a big part of the offence.

I am not calling him a bust, but he was not worthy of a 1st round pick. No reciever is IMO. They all struggle at first. Even Rice.

Twenty-one years ago this week, Bill Walsh stood before the skeptical Bay Area media and defended a controversial decision. He told them that the 49ers’ troubled rookie wide receiver would remain a starter despite several bad performances.
The rookie’s name was Jerry Rice.

Oh I wasn't refering to you, I just jumped on the opportunity to put what I said out there because there were a few guys on the forum that think Calvin Johnson only gaining around 700 yards last year makes him a bust. Larry Fitzgerald was the bridge I needed to connect my point. But with that said how do you not like Calvin Johnson :(

Chad Johnson didn't have 700 yards receiving last year. He had nearly 1,500.
