I agree with the need to address the defensive line, but it seems that this draft is loaded with offensive linemen. Well I would say that we should draft an O-lineman or D-lineman with our first pick. In regards to the CB situation (if Spring leaves), should the Skins consider Asante Samuel? I don't think our CB situation could be solved with the draft, and should Spring were to leave, we'll be very thin at that position.

In my perfect world the draft would go as follow:Pick #21 Calais Campbell DE Miami 6'8 282.......Pick #51 James Hardy WR Indiana 6'6 215.......Pick #84 Terrence Wheatley CB Colorado 5'10 170

With Rogers coming back from injury and Springs possibly gone, I've gotta say corner right now.
Jerry Gray said that they should keep Springs and I think they will.
Still think drafting a corner is a good idea.
1st pick should be Defensive End to rotate in across from Carter. If we could build on our sack totals for 08' we could be a dangerous team.
I can see Skins secondary that started against the Seahawks doing well with Rogers back and a rookie to replace Springs in 09' learning the system.

21. Washington Redskins
Record: 9-7
Biggest needs: WR, DE, S, OT, CB
Projected pick: Limas Sweed, WR, Texas
The Redskins' top priority this offseason is to add a playmaking receiver to the roster. There projects to be a run of wide receivers in the bottom half of the first round before the shallow talent pool dries up and if the Redskins don't get involved here they're likely to get shut out of the wide receiver market. Sweed could become one of the steals of this year's draft; he possesses top-10 talent but will no doubt be undervalued due to a wrist injury that cut short his senior season but should have no long-term affects on his pass-catching ability.

Cap on Lloyd is 4,238,000 for 08
At this point it's hard to gauge what the Skins need because it's hard to tell who is still going to be with the team. As of now DE, CB, G, T, LB, S, WR are all needs. Priority of needs all depends on if the skins can pull another rabbit out of the salary cap. Spings, Griffin, Washington, Portis, Daniels, injury prone Janson, and the useless one- Lloyd, all have big cap numbers. Hopefully I'm wrong, but when we get rid of Lloyd it's gonna hurt. And unless we are able to renegotiate some contracts I can see Springs, Griffin, Daniels, and or Portis released as well. For example, if Springs is released- CB becomes top priority. If Griffin is gone, DT etc... Because of Lloyd's cap hit, I don't see us very active in FA. SO, I guess I'm saying as of now DE looks like the biggest need and WR next, but until the cap gets sorted- who knows?
And, one more thing... Can anyone tell me why the skins are picking 21 instead of 20? Lost to TB head to head- Why is the rules for a draft order tie breaker different than the rules for a playoff tie breaker? Any insight?

I think we have a resounding "line" result. either defensive or offensive. they both need to be addressed. The offensive line pickup will liekly not start at first, but honestly, the defensive pickup if drafted in the 1st three rounds could start early next year.

OFFENSIVE LINE! We really tend to fall apart when we lose a starter. While GW seems to keep things together when we are short on the defensive side of the ball. We also really need a running back.....portis looks slower every year, and betts just isnt a starter in my opinion. If we are gonna play "redskins football" we must address o-line and RB.

There are alot of running backs out there and the most suited for "Redskins Football" so to speak would have to be Rashard Mendenhall out of Illinois, but seriously Wide Reciever is a more pressing issue than the running back position is.
