I feel very proud as well. I never thought this team would make the playoffs this year--let alone have a winning record.

But I also feel as though these playoff chances are just to precious to squander with this franchise. 3 playoff runs in the past 15 years makes me wonder if when this team will be back here again...

I agree with your thought of 2 playoff runs in 3 years...this team has a much better mojo to it than it did in years past. Gibbs has brought respectability back to Washington, and the whole demeanor has changed.

Because I am spoiled. My first 15 years as a fan, being a kid in DC during the 80s, I became programmed to expect a consistent playoff team with the Skins. The last 15 years have been brutally frustrating at times.

But very good point about 2 playoff runs in the last 3 years. Coupled with how this team battled back so well after the Taylor tragedy--I do feel good about that...

I'm right there with you...I was a fan back in the late 70's and had a great run through to the very early 90's. The past 15+ years have not been kind.
Still I thank my dead great uncle for getting me into football and more importantly, he was a Boston Redskins fan back in the 30's and followed the team to Washington. He got me into the Skins instead of the Pats. THANK YOU UNCLE TONY!

Thanks for making something of a season that seemed lost. Let's make this strong finish a stepping stone for a great season next year.

While this loss does sting a bit, I'm proud of what they were able to accomplish this season. No team should have to go through what they went through. Despite the cards being repeatedly stacked against them all season, they still found a way to make it to the dance.

A special thank you to Coach Gibbs. You were a constant source of strength in the midst of an unbelievable storm. To me, you encompass all that it means to be a Redskin.

Well, I agree with you about everything except I am just not ready to find my peace with the loss. I thought we were better than the Seahawks...I guess I was wrong and I'll come to peace with that eventually, but not today.

Still, it was a great season and I am proud of the skins, and proud to be a skins fan.

We are a better team, we just weren't today. Certainly at full strength I think we win this game.

I mean, when all is said and done, Hasselhoff did precisely what I knew he would: engineer one scoring drive and make a bunch of mistakes. Some we capitalized on, many we didn't. The defense largely did their job, and offense responded in the second half, too, on all but one or two critical plays. Hell, even our special teams far outplayed Seattle minus that glaring FG botch.

For all that talk about the explosive Seagull offense, despite the fact that we couldn't run at all, despite being manhandled by their D in the first half, we HAD this game, we just couldn't finish, and momentum swung back.

We lost this game because their speed rushing defense far outmatched our patchwork O-Line, and because of their crowd noise / home field advantage. Honestly, that's it, IMO. I think we stuffed them on D repeatedly, and I think once we got into the no-huddle and started making plays in the second half, we had them on the ropes, but the FG miss killed the tidal wave of momentum we were about to drop on those guys.

I don't feel bad at all because I know we lost due to personnel issues we simply couldn't have solved today. We simply hit a matchup that was really, really bad for us, and we nearly pulled it off anyway.

Only thing that really leaves a bad taste in my mouth today was Santana's continuing mental lapses. A few folks took exception to my assertion that ARE was playing like our WR1 this season, but I think he showed that today, while Santana had a lot of regrettable missed plays, including that backbreaker pick 6 he stood and watched.

Anyway, it was a horrible season that was redeemed and became a great one and at this point to hell with the rest of the teams in the NFC, except maybe the Pack. Pack-Jags Super Bowl wouldn't offend me too much. Or Pack-Colts.

Just not the Seagulls. Or Gints. Or Cowpokes. Or Cheatriots.

Leading up to this game I couldn't believe how many people predicted the Redskins to win. I think you've got a good team but only one or two of your players are dependable. Seattle can throw the ball to all its recievers. Their ground game has suffered but is gaining and the defense, well that speaks for itself. I've been a fan of the hawks for over 20 years when making the playoffs was a amazing. Now we have 5 titles and have made it to the dance. Unfortunatly the dance was rigged so we didn't get a ring. I'm proud of my team and think they and there players represent what is good about the NFL. Not much of a rap sheet on our players and when we end up with them we don't just ignore them. D Jackson is with SF because of that. Good people deserve good things.
