Now, thats a guarantee that I would like to see happen.
Not only do you guarantee that we keep him (which I agree with)
But you make the crazy statement that we pay him less than market value.
Wow...I can't remember anyone signing with the Skins under market value.
How about Ladell Betts last year?
mheisig 01-02-2008, 12:16 PM I want us to resign Collins and then handcuff him to Jason Campbell for about 6 months. Let Campbell absorb and learn everything he possibly can.
If we can get Collins' understanding of the offensive system into Jason Campbell's head, we've got a killer QB.

Echoing Matty, Ladell Betts.
I'd say Mike Sellers is way underpaid. I'd also say that though we just resigned Cooley, he's a good bargain.
In Collins' case, can't you see the logic there? Why would he want to go anywhere else? If you're 36, going on 37, and haven't played football your entire NFL career, and knowing that QB's careers go downhill after 37 (typically), wouldn't you want to avoid learning new systems?
I think Danny will take care of him pretty well. But the guy is in line for a one-year deal a la Jeff Garcia in Tampa (after that great relief appearance in Philly). I bet we don't have to pay him that much to keep him. He's going to want to start, but he's going to want to start for Saunders.
That Guy 01-02-2008, 08:30 PM undervalue: betts, sellers, cartwright, lemar marshall, sean taylor.
tmandoug1 01-02-2008, 08:57 PM This may upset alot of you out there in my Redskin Nation, but here goes. TC has played better then any QB we have had in years, his accuracy and ability to get rid of the ball quick and on target makes me want him as the starting QB for the next two years or until he can't play anymore. If JC watches someone who learns the system as good as TC, maybe he will do the same. It would be nice to see JC not have the deer in the headlights look when he drops back. Go ahead slam me.

I agree that Collins will think long and hard about going somewhere else. All he has to do is talk to Brunell. He didn't exactly keep his frustrations hidden when asked about learning Saunders' system.

I agree. I think that Brunell's inability to either learn and/or absorb Saunders system, plus the fact that his arm turned into a wet noodle and he couldn't throw any passes EXCEPT the checkdowns, lead to our offensive failure in the beginning of last year.
Collins should DEF stay here next season. Easier for him, easier for the team, it just works out better.
It would be weird to use Collins later kinda like Arizona used Tim Rattay this year after JC got healthy. For some reason that just came to mind. Beer.
Jesse E. Timmons 01-03-2008, 08:49 AM mabey a 2 qb system?
Monkeydad 01-03-2008, 11:08 AM mabey a 2 qb system?
No. Collins is old and is great for short-term success, but Campbell is still the QB of our future and looks like he can be VERY successful. A 2 QB system would only hamper Campbell's development.
Besides, how would it work? We put Collins in when it's time to protect the ball? We put Campbell in to scramble?
Seahawks_Fan 01-04-2008, 10:30 PM I just wonder if the career backup can keep it up, or if his bubble is going to burst tomorrow, especially under the pressure of playing on the road in the playoffs.
