#56fanatic 12-31-2007, 06:07 PM I have said all year the Cowboys were a damn good team. No having TO, Romo will need some time to adjust, but he should be back next week. One thing I can not stand today is the Cowboy fans screaming they didn't need the win, they weren't really trying. Playing your starters for 3+ quarters, subjecting your starts to a beating isnt' trying to win. I am sick of that crap. I have listened to it all day.
Now, had the game gone the other way, it would have been "we wanted to go into the playoffs high, we wanted to knock you guys out of the playoffs, we wanted to do this and that.. blah blah blah. fact is, the cowboys and fans are hoping its Seattle coming in next week and not us. because the first time we played them it was a last second game, very close, and definately winable for the skins, and this time around we flat out beat them up. TO or not, we are a totally different defense now than what we were in Dallas earlier in the year. TO beat us on coverage plays, not beating springs.
sandtrapjack 12-31-2007, 06:20 PM And you can track back to the day that they clinched the division and a playoff berth is when they started to get conservative.
The coaching staff has made no secret that as soon as they clinched the division, priority 1 was to go to the playoffs relatively healthy. Priority 2 was to clinch home field.

If I were a Dallas fan I would be very concerned. After not playing up to their standards the last month can they just turn it on once the playoffs start? Shouldn't they be trying to peak going into the playoffs? I just don't see them getting to the SB the way they have been playing lately.

Gee I seem to remember a team that went 2-3 in December of 2006 and did pretty good in the post season..........Indianapolis.
Not to mention the last time the Cowboys won the Super Bowl in 1995, they were 2-2 in December. Again....not worried. We have 2 home games to win. Everyone else has a harder road to travel.
2621_I Remember 12-31-2007, 09:11 PM I want to see a rematch! It will be a great game that will give the fans there money worth!

JJ is Dynomite!
Really though, I don't think it is overrated how poorly Dallas has been playing as of late. Romo was visibly upset and frustrated on the sidelines for good reason. And to rush for ONE YARD FOR THE ENTIRE GAME, c'mon! I'm sorry, even if it "doesn't mean anything" at some point pride has to enter into the equation. I will honor the fact that TO wasn't playing, but other than that Dallas had their starting squad on the field into the 3rd quarter and didn't start pulling them until they were down 20-3 and realized they weren't going to be able to win, let alone try to achieve the records they were trying to break. I mean if we want to talk about resting people and playing without starters, let's talk about the starters that the Skins are playing without...starting quarterback, two starting offensive linemen, starting linebacker, starting safety...blah, blah, blah! See you in two weeks.
redskinz79 12-31-2007, 09:38 PM I have no doubt in my mind that if the Redskins were to meet the Cowgirls again in the playoffs.. we will go toe to toe and we'll be a big threat to your super bowl aspirations. I am sure most Dallas fans want to steer away from us too. We are playing extremely high level football and it's almost scary as to how far we may go as long as our core keeps playing this way.
But all in all, Seattle is first and we need to take care of business there before we can even think about the Cowgirls. And honestly, the Packers are the team to beat right now in the NFC. They are playing awesome ball.

They beat the Raiders, Rams, and Lions down the stretch. Teams boasting the 21st, 22nd, and 32nd ranked defenses. And they got shalacked by Chicago in a game that could have given them home field advantage throughout. I don't know if awesome is the right word.
The team to beat right now for the Redskins is Seattle. Then the team to beat will be Dallas. Who knows who will be the team to beat after that, this NFC is wide open for the taking. Everyone is 0-0 and Washington is playing as good or better than anyone.
