Giantone 01-01-2008, 11:42 AM Not so fast, every team in the NFC east lost to New England and some team got it really bad (no names). So until a member of the east can beat the beast of the NFL than the east is not back to me.
Take away the refs and some team in the East did beat the Pats.I wanna see them again.

Except for the forget-about-it game the Pats were really pushed to their limits in three games.
MTRedskinsFan 01-01-2008, 06:41 PM I'm super-duper impressed, even in awe, of our defense this year. With two season ending injuries to starters (very good starters) and the tragedy of ST's death I think this defense showed more grit, character, and heart than any other in the NFL. I think most of us would agree that we even lost our best player in ST, and how many teams do you suppose would excel in that kind of situation? When B. Sanders is missing from the Indy lineup their d is mediocre.
Anyway, i think what's happened is pretty awesome. Our d is leading us into the playoffs and I don't think it's going to let up.

The NFC East is one of, or the, best division in football, regardless of just how good the Pats are. As for the Redskins taking one on the chin against the Pats, I believe your boys took a nice beating the other night. :food-smil

The Patriots better worry about the Colts, Jaguars, Steelers, Chargers and the Titians. It's not a lock that the Patriots will be representing the AFC. In a one game scenario, any team can lose. Game time conditions, weather, injuries, turnovers can cause a single game to change drastically. As Chris Berman always says, "That's why they play the games".
redsk1 01-02-2008, 04:59 PM Very impressive top 10 defense w/ a # of starters gone for the year including 2 from the secondary almost all year. Just goes to show you that AS & GW do actually know what their doing.
The East is probably the toughest division in football. That doesn't mean the best team is in the east. The division as a whole is the toughest top to bottom.

yeah ok those unmotivated mofo's with blue stars on there helmets sure did. Those starters were in for there personal records not playing to win. I absolutly hate the NFL for making this rival game the last of the season what morons and those darn Cheeseheads for losing to the hibernating bears again.
mike340 01-03-2008, 04:08 AM We improved because of Springs (and Smoot.) Taylor was our best defensive player, but not the player whose loss would create the greatest drop in defense. Springs is.
Last year Springs was out a lot because the doctors didn't diagnose that he needed surgery until the season began. As a result we had Rogers and a revolving door as our secondary. Others had to cover up the deficiencies at CB, which made it feel as though we only had 10 guys playing defense. Our few good defensive efforts all came when Springs was in the lineup. This year we have Springs one-on-one with the best receiver plus Smoot able to replace Rogers when he went out. Now GW can be aggressive again.
The result is a vastly improved defense.
