8-8 +/- 2... safest bet ever :P
OK, I admit it.. I was WRONG, but don't tell my wife PLEASEThat Guy 12-30-2007, 11:45 PM 8-8 +/- 2... safest bet ever :P SouperMeister 12-30-2007, 11:48 PM I think I predicted an 8-8 season too, although I said they'd go to the playoffs with a 9-7 record about a month ago.I predicted 9-7 after our 5-5 start, and said that our tiebreaker advantage would put us in the playoffs. Probably my best prediction was saying that Detroit would finish no better than 9-7 way back when they were 6-2. They were perhaps the biggest frauds in the NFL after that fast start. WaldSkins 12-31-2007, 12:07 AM I predicted 10-6. Should I be disappointed? ;) Yea thats what i was thinking.... I predicted 11-5. dgack 12-31-2007, 12:08 AM Not to toot my own horn, but I was also one of the ones who predicted 9-7 for this team, though it sure seemed like that was a pipe dream after that heartbreaker in Buffalo. I recall a stat I saw after we started 2-0 that showed the percentage chance of making the playoffs for teams that finished 9-7 and it was quite high, something like 60-70%? Knowing that 9-7 was "just" playing .500 ball after a 2-0 start, I felt like it was something we could accomplish with this team, I just thought a couple of the wins would have come against different opponents: I figured we'd lose to Minny and beat Buffalo, for example. All things considered, I'm much happier peaking now with everything that's happened. We owe Seattle some payback from two years ago (I still haven't forgotten that assclown kicker of theirs talking smack about us), and I think we have a real chance to make some noise in the NFC playoffs. The entire NFC may be just an appetizer for the Patriots at this point, but I don't think there is any team in the NFC playoffs that I'm really truly afraid of if we continue to stay healthy and roll the way we our right now... troy 12-31-2007, 12:14 AM ok i admit i was wrong about al saunders i said i'd like to send him and his 700 page playbook back to kansas city. sometimes the only reason i open my mouth is to change feet. once collins started taking the snaps the whole playbook opened up. sorry al my bad... hurrykaine 12-31-2007, 12:47 AM Joe Gibbs is Mr December. Of course, he's also Li'l Miss November - the month where we get owned every year. Either way, couldn't be happier for Ole Joe and skins fans! Happily eating crow at the moment. Dlyne8r 12-31-2007, 01:26 AM I too, like many of you, had serious doubts not long ago. Who wouldn't have after tragedy, blundered calls, injury after injury, etc., struck our team. But, I'm extremely pleased that my doubts have been proven wrong. I predicted a 9-7 season, long before the injuries, and more importantly, before tragedy. Yet it amazes me that the Redskins have risen from such adversity. Maybe God has determined that we have all suffered long enough and that it is time for some healing. On to the playoffs! Who'd have thought this possible a month ago? 70Chip 12-31-2007, 04:02 PM On the one hand, I would like to go back and complie a list of all the Warpathers who have demonstrated a lack of faith in varying degrees, but I am in a forgiving, magnanimous mood. Kill the fatted calf and all that stuff. Everyone is welcome back as far as I'm concerned. Well, almost everyone. Some men you just can't reach, but we won't worry about them today. You presume ALOT... never left being a Redskin fan.... just didn't believe the team was there yet. I still don't think they are a Super Bowl contender (but anything can happen in the playoffs)... I do think they have shown me something and I think we are on the right track. :boxing: MPNRedskins 12-31-2007, 04:21 PM Dude, don't sweat it. I was with you during the season. I love the Skins, but doubts creeped into my head after they dropped several close games. These last four games, they look dominating. Where was that all year? The real question is: If Collins takes them deep into the playoffs and possibly the Super Bowl, who is the starting QB next year? |
