I've been feeling kind of bad for Jason Campbell lately. The media can't be faulted for jumping on the Cinderella Todd Collins story, and consequently, it's like the guy has been erased from the universe for the past month, I mean -- you NEVER hear about him, or even see him during games.

I do think Joe should ride Collins' hot hand as far as it'll take us in the playoffs or unless anything bad happens during a game, but I also think Jason has a lot to do with the feelings of hope the team generated this year, and hope that isn't overshadowed in DC's latest QB love affair. This town loves a QB controversy and I don't see any benefit to destroying the progress Jason has made this season.

I hope this whole QB carousel doesn't start again. I feel like its pointless, TC is a very consistent and reliable but yet not starting QB material in my mind. He's perfect at second string. He did what a second stringer is supposed to do: Go in there, know the plays and play consistently. I mean we don't want TC to be the next Trent Green. Some old dude running around back there and then get injured and then the team has a dud of a season. There's no doubt that TC goes throughout our playoff run but as soon as next year comes around JC is back. JC is the future of this franchise, not TC.

campbell will learn from watching todd plays in the playoffs. it takes time and effort to learn 700 pages playbook. and it shows how effective it is when the QB is well versed on it

OK - let's say that the Redskins beat the Cowboys next week with Dallas having nothing to play for and the Redskins having to win to get in. Lets say Collins continues to look sharp in the win against Dallas.

I heard that on the game Jason Campbell is stretching again and he may be able to return in a couple of weeks.

My question is do you put Campbell back in if he is healthy or ride this thing with Collins until the season ends?

This thread is not about the future of Jason Campbell - he is the unquestioned long term starter at qb for us - I am just asking about the postseason for this year only.

Thoughts?

I say let it ride with Collins. He has the team moving in the right direction with no lapses.

The only reason I don't play Campbell is because if he re-injures that knee, then we very well may have to start all over again at QB. And, although Collins is playing extremely well, he is still 36.

We dont need to rush him back on the field, let him get into game shape, practice, and then come in as the #2 throughout the playoffs.

AS for next year, we will cross that bridge when we get to it.

Although anything can happen, I cant see how Collins isnt the #1 QB going into training camp. Right now as far as this O goes, Colling is light years ahead of Campbell.

Next year is a different story. Let's not even worry about that yet.
