On Christmas Eve my dad's enormous family gets together and one of the traditions is the singing of "12 Days of Christmas..." featuring as many of my grandmother's 13 kids and 50+ grandkids as possible. This year, after a typically loud and jolly rendition we all started singing "Hail To The Redskins" at the top of our lungs. This was followed by a "We Want Dallas" chant that lasted for a few minutes and almost ended with the severe beating of my cousin's husband (a big dallas fan who was wearing a division champs hat). This was great in and of itself, but it was made better by the fact that my grandmother sang along as loud as she could while proudly wearing her new Sean Taylor jersey. You guys should have seen how giddy she was when she talked about the game against minnesota (which she recorded and watched after she heard the final score because she says her heart can't take a live game). It was really a great day! Merry post-Christmas everyone, I hope you all had a great day. |
