I like the 7 day waiting period idea, but I would suggest having a v-bulletin come up after a person registers saying that they have to wait 7 days before they post a new thread, but if they have a thread they feel is important and can't wait then they should pm a mod and ask them if they can post that thread, but if it's a dumb idea for a thread (which it usually is) then a mod could just tell them it's been done before and look around the forum for a similar thread. If it's too much responsibility for the mods then w/e.

Ok, so this thread starting about every little coaching commentary that is out there is getting ridiculous. Can we temporarily limit thread starting to those with 500+ posts? Seriously, this is insane.

I still vote for my proposed IQ / Basic Writing Skills test. You've got to pass with a 80% of better to be able to post anything at all, 95% or better to start new threads.
