Yesterday I started a thread called "Portis and the Cap 101".
Here's an exerpt from my post:
"This would bring the total contract to 5 years $27.5M, which ironically is about the same as Arrington's "real" contract."
Today I see Pastabelly's article: (thanks for the link Daseal)
http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/columns/story?columnist=pasquarelli_len&id=1749441
Here's an exerpt:
"On Monday, Portis agreed to an eight-year contract worth $50.5 million and including bonus money of $17 million. The Portis contract is worth about $27.5 million in its first five years."
Funny, I hadn't heard any mention of the contract details before this. And I hear this from PB and not the Washington Post? Hmmm...
The way I see it there are 2 possible scenarios:
A. A crazed fan from Canada, with no inside NFL info whatsoever, who only analyzes the cap in his spare time, with no info about the details of the contract, was able to come up with the exact same projection as one of the top NFL sports writers in the country ;) , who has instant access to contract information, as well as supposed "inside info" ;) about the inner workings of the NFL.
B. Pastabelly is stealing my info!
I vote B. The least he could have done is changed his numbers a BIT, so as not to rub it in my face.
I'll let you guys decide.
You crazy americans are experts at suing people so if you think I have a case let me know! :)
