Guys I am looking to buy a 360, I don't need like the top tier one or whatever. Some of you guys know a lot more about systems and electronics pricing in general so I had a couple questions.

First and foremost, what is price currently and are there going to be any cuts soon? With that are there any good bundles out there? I am most definately looking for an extra controller and games(halo, etc).

Also should I buy a warranty?

Basically I need to know the basic 360isms.

I have always been a Sony person too starting with PS, so this is a big switch for me and I don't know much.

A lot of good info here:

Xbox 360 Console Resource Center : Game System, Specs, Accessories, Price, Games List on GameSpot (http://www.gamespot.com/console-resource/xbox360/index.html?om_act=convert&om_clk=multimodule&tag=multimodule;picks;title;5)

I made the switch from Sony to the Xbox and I don't regret it one bit. If you like online gaming the 360 is the best way to go right now, Xbox Live is so well done it's not even funny.

The premium console is probably your best bet and it sells for $349 and includes a 20 GB hard drive, wireless controller, and headset.

There's a table on this page that shows the difference between all the different versions.

Thanks. So I guess I will be looking at the 20G. I don't think I would ever need 120. I mean are mod chips cheap, because I heard you can just save games onto the harddrive.

I wonder how much space a game would take up.

Thanks guys. I appreciate all the help. Also I know this must be asked alot but is it really worth paying for XBox Live? PS3's service is for free. That along with my loyalty for the past 6-7 year to Sony are the only things holding me back.

Also I was looking into
Xbox.com | Product Detail - Xbox 360â„¢ Halo 3 Special Edition Console (http://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360halo3console/default.htmttp://www.xbox.com/en-US/hardware/x/xbox360halo3console/default.htm)

because I want halo, and beside the ugly color it's pretty much a pro right>?

yeah the xbox live is worth paying for. the ps3 home demo looked pretty cool for online chatting, which Im not really into... but nonetheless HOME looked pretty cool.

xbox live premium subscription is the way you play online and yes its worth every penny. dont even get the system if you're not going to plan on playing online, because most games are just okay in single player modes...

the live competition online for madden or ncaa is addictive as hell, and cod4... what an amazing online game...

btw... I see there are new maps on cod4 that I haven't played... I just saw a new one when I got home from work.... also some more team games available to play. I guess they plan on updating things to keep it fresh.
