Roy Williams is overrated, as many have said. He can't cover and is a cheapshot expert.

As far as Hamlin's hit goes, I don't really see anything wrong with it. He led with his shoulder at the receiver to break up the play. Great timing and hit there. As someone earlier said, if ST did that we'd be like "Hell yeah!" Of course, if LL did it, there would be a penalty. Not for the hit, but the smack talking afterwards :).

And he still gets voted into the Pro Bowl on name recognition alone. Even most Cowboys fans know he's not very good. Every time I watch the guy play he attempts about 4 horsecollar tackles at a minimum. My only explanation is that he has done it so many times that he is unable to change his ways, it's pretty crazy.

Pro Bowl names just announced and Roy Williams did NOT make the list.

However 11 other Dallas Cowboys did make it.

Oh you mean like Ken Hamlin did on Sunday?

If a player lays a hard hit on somebody and doesn't get up afterward it loses some of the effect, I don't care how hard it was ... after watching the hit it seems Schobel made it off the field before Hamlin. Doesn't Hamlin have a plate in his head from the fight in Seattle?

I think he needs to attend some tackling clinics.

Roy 'lasso" Williams looks like he could use a leave of absence like that ol' hockey boy, Chris Simon. Rollin Rollin Rollin, I'll horse collar till your swollen, Royhide!

I've looked at that hit several times, and I'm not impressed. He didn't do anything spectacular. He was in the right place, at the right time, and he just jumped in the air. Big deal. He even turned his body away from Schobel at the last second -- not a sign of a great tackle.

Great tackles are where the defender breaks down, wraps up, and drives the ball carrier back, and down into the turf. I remember a time when that was important. Sigh.

In case you missed it Sunday, Schobel went to the locker room and was done for the day. Hamlin was out for the mandatory one play and finished the game.

Looked like helmet-to-helmet to me. I'd be less pissed if ST/Landry did it, but I still wouldn't be happy about it. After all, we don't need a Roy Williams on the team - we just need a gifted safety who can tackle and lay the wood.
