mheisig 12-18-2007, 09:19 AM For the record, the suspension was warranted and Williams has nothing to complain about. He deserved that suspension 100%.
But that suspension is going to leave Dallas "thin" at the safety position for this Saturdays game at Carolina. Pat Watkins suffered a nasty sprain this week and he and Williams will be out for the Panthers game.
The irony is that the Cowboys secondary will most likely be facing off against Matt Moore, who will probably start for the Panthers. Matt Moore was signed as an undrafted rookie free agent by Dallas and then released by Dallas at training camp this year.
"Thin"?! Yeah, I'm real sorry you've lost so many important players. You wanna see thin, check out our depth chart right now.
On a slightly different note, it would be kind of nice if Roy Williams could horsecollar Tony Romo, knock Romo out for the season and then Williams would get suspended until 2008. Williams is about stupid enough that he might do it, too.
If only...
redskinsfanatic 12-18-2007, 10:27 AM will he appeal the suspension?if he does, then he'll have to sit his cheap shooting dirty playing ass against the redskins wo'nt he????

Glad to see that some cowboys fans aren't completely ignorant and biased. My officemate (a cowboys fan who grew up in Pa, can we say frontrunner?) is tryin to explain to me that horsecollaring is part of the game and they need to let the "players play". When I brought up the fact that it almost ended TO's career and as a result the rule was put into play he was at a loss for words. I just don't get what Williams was protesting. There were three flags thrown and even Aikman commented that it was a horsecollar and that it has no place in the game.
Also no offense but that Matt Moore point that you brought up, isn't ironic. It's just an irrelevant fact that you brought up which only cowboy's fans would care about. Wrong forum for that.
birdz4gibbs 12-18-2007, 11:57 AM roy has done it since day one and continues to do it so it serves him right .
yeah TO just about had his ankle taken off because of this nonsense...
i,m suprised that it wasn,t anything more than a 1 game suspension cause it,s his style that put this in place to start with and yet he continues to horsecollar..
cowboys being the cowboys i guess.
SouperMeister 12-18-2007, 12:09 PM Obviously, this tackling technique is in his football DNA, so he WILL do it again even after a one game suspension. That begs the question, what is the penalty next time? 3 games without pay?
Frankly, I want him to play against the Skins. Whenever we try to exploit Williams in coverage he is a huge liability. Cooley owned him in Dallas last month.
I think he needs to attend some tackling clinics.

No, he needs Bill Parcells' Backyard Drills DVD:

dmek25 12-18-2007, 01:26 PM Oh you mean like Ken Hamlin did on Sunday?

you guys make me laugh around here. if this hit would have been Sean Taylor or Laron Landry, it would have been the best thing since sliced bread. this was a sweet stick. but i do think it was helmet to helmet, which is illegal

No, it does NOT "beg the question."

What you're saying is that my hatred for the Cowboys has made me biased and blind to rational observations?
I guess I don't see the problem.
