I think he probably dislocated his knee and tore his patella tendon which is really bad... may be the worst thing he could do.
Tell me it's not a career ender though.

Tell me it's not a career ender though. DGreene28 12-06-2007, 11:07 PM Is it just me, or does it sound like Gumbel is saying "shit injury", when talking about Cooley. YES!!!! I did a double take and then Chris Collinsworth asked him if he was fading and needed a lozenge which made me laugh out loud jsarno 12-06-2007, 11:07 PM lol they're already out in full force and the 3rd quarter has barely started. You know JKC would be rolling in his grave if he knew about some of these guys on this board. :Smoker: no kidding...it's disgusting. BringBackJoeT 12-06-2007, 11:07 PM On a real network, we would have long since gotten some sideline injury updates. Can't believe how amateur-ish this broadcast is. Beemnseven 12-06-2007, 11:07 PM So, is that worse than a torn ACL ? About the same? DGreene28 12-06-2007, 11:08 PM Tell me it's not a career ender though. Not a doctor, but know It's a bad one BringBackJoeT 12-06-2007, 11:09 PM Atta boys special teams! GTripp0012 12-06-2007, 11:10 PM I think he probably dislocated his knee and tore his patella tendon which is really bad... may be the worst thing he could do.That could really kill his mobility for the rest of his career. Good news is that I believe (and I'm not a doctor, but I do know anatomy) that a torn patellar is easier to heal than an ACL. DGreene28 12-06-2007, 11:12 PM Abstract Irreducible knee dislocation due to incarcerated soft tissue structures in associated fractures is extremely uncommon. We report a case of irreducible, closed dislocation of the knee secondary to incarcerated patellar tendon in a Hoffa fracture (unicondylar fracture of femur in the coronal plane) with associated communited fracture of patella and disruption of both cruciates. We treated this case initially with open reduction and internal fixation of fracture and repair of the patellar tendon. During the total followup period of eighteen months, the patient had restricted joint range of motion with no joint instability despite aggressive physiotherapy and further surgical intervention. The prognosis of such complex knee injuries with combination of ligamentous injuries and associated fractures is much worse when compared to either injuries alone. GTripp0012 12-06-2007, 11:12 PM So, is that worse than a torn ACL ? About the same?Give-take from what I understand. If the Patellar is severed, we will be sitting here at this time in 2009 and talking about the good ol days when Campbell was able to move. But with regards to September 2008, he really should be able to step into his throw and unleash it by then. |
