Maybe it's what the team wants. Maybe they just want to get the game over with. Maybe they want to try to get back to some semblance of normalcy.

I don't know why we have to keep insisting they change the date/time of the game.

If the team wanted the game moved I'm sure they would have made a request with the NFL. To date there has been no indication that the team made any such request. It seems that the fans are the only ones with a problem about this for some reason.

On the Redskin report on Sat they had said the Danny had asked but assumed that they were denied since nobody had heard anything, the Bears said anything is fine with them.

They are going to play on thursday, its tough losing a teammate but they are in the middle of a football season. Im actually pretty pleased with how well the NFL and its players have reacted to the situation.

I heard that the request was made by the team to the league and the request was denied.

Fact of the matter is if they did move it to another night, it would violate established agreements with the major television networks. It all has to do with marketing and how networks sell thier advertising spots.

And moving the game to Sunday means that the NFL Network would then be competing with the other Sunday games on major networks in major markets, and by agreement, they are not allowed to do so.

Even if they wanted to do it, there would not be enough time to finalize it due to all the legal hoops that would need to be overcome.

There are a lot of hurdles that need to be overcome to move an event from one date to another. Beyond just television issues. It's hard to move things 6 months in advance, let alone six days.
