I've been strong throughout this whole ordeal but this is very moving. Lavar we still love you and it was great to see you up there pouring your heart out as a man. Clinton showed his friendship was untested and true. Sad, Sad, Sad

Ortega told another story how in high school Taylor would hurdle right over players that running straight up as opposed to diving at the ankles. (remember he played running back). He said Taylor would do this repeatedly. Finally after the team made it to the playoffs, Ortega said, hell, if Sean could do it so can I. Ortega remembers trying it and taking an opposing helmet in the chest cavity. He said Taylor didn't let him live it down for about two years.

Florida City Mayor is calling out the media right now, at least he's acknowledging that it wasn't the entire media

Wow, I really wanted to keep Wilbon out of this thread but after listening to the Mayor, how could you? All I can say good for him for calling out the knuckleheads who rushed to judgement.
Very fitting and classy act. I also liked how he acknowledged the Redskins and the entire room stood.

i'm watching it on NFL network and it's been making my eyes water. I know sean is in a better place and even though i wasn't a big redskins fan i loved watching that kid play. I love all the stories about him because i didn't know much about him off the field untill this week and he sounds like a great guy. 12th man i also wanted to say sorry about the whole Brett Favre thing i don't know if you remember but we had a little disagreement about him. I'm a huge Favre fan but i do feel sorry about getting into it with you. I know it's not important now but i just thought i should tell ya....

In short, Wilbon said he wasn't surprised that Taylor was shot because of his past. He later said that maybe Taylor had changed but that didn't mean the people around him had.

In a nutshell, he said he wasn't surprised about what happened to Taylor. Said it wasn't the first time and won't be the last. This was the day before he passed. He has sinced tried to back pedal some, but hasn't apologized.
Believe me when I say I'm done with Mike Wibon.

Dude, no apologies necessary. I was being a complete ass myself. That entire week I was full of myself for whatever the reason with the whole hate Green Bay thing. I probably was on my period or something.
I hope this Sean Taylor incident will make us all appreciate the talent and the great playes we have with us.
It's ironic that Taylor's last interception was thrown by Favre and here we are apologizing for a spat. Life is funny, huh?
