SmootSmack 12-03-2007, 06:48 PM This goes beyond any questioning of Gibbs. It's ok to question Gibbs. That's not what I have an issue with. I think it's stupid to question him and seemingly never anyone else. But I guess I'll just have to accept that's how it will be so long as he's here.
And I'm not lumping all fans here. I mean when you all rip on the media or ESPN in particular, I know you're not ignorant enough to assume it's every single person in the media or every single person at ESPN.
Honestly, I've been of the opinion for a couple decades now that there are too many "bad fans" Way too many for a proud franchise that claims to have the greatest fans. When I see/hear total silence when we're on defense, loud commotion when we're on offense, chattering during a moment of silence (I dont't give a flying you know what what they were chanting, moment of silence means moment of silence, when I hear people saying after yesterday's game that the team should be ashamed of itself for letting the fans down, when I hear people claim that the only true fans are the ones that find fault at every turn because they're the ones that "really care" and so on, when I read all week about supporting the team during a difficult time and being understanding no matter what the outcome, and then seeing them turn out to be idle words (and then hearing that coaches/players were cursed at and booed)...I just have to wonder how can we claim to be this great community of fans (and has there ever been a longer run-on sentence in the history)
I hope my faith is restored, but some have lost faith in Gibbs and I, for now, have lost faith in the overall fandom.
12thMan 12-03-2007, 06:53 PM Okay, if this goes back decades then I stand corrected. But I will say that this recent thing with fans not filling up the stadium and not responding when the defense is on the field, that's a FedEx thing. RFK would never, ever let the opponent drive the ball in the red zone and remain quiet. People were standing the entire game freezing their asses off too. I do hear you though.
But forget all of that, can I borrow $10 from you is what I really want to know?
SmootSmack 12-03-2007, 07:00 PM No doubt things haven't been the same at FedEx versus RFK.
WaldSkins 12-03-2007, 07:23 PM i stood the whole game, got yelled at for it, and almost got into it with a redskins fan for standing... They should get rid of the seats. Standing only..
Darrell_Green_28 12-03-2007, 07:32 PM People I spoke to said they definitely saw and heard players getting cursed at and booed.
Im not making excuses or anything, but, are we sure it was redskins fans? and not say bills fans or just football fans that just wanted to be there at a football game?

Nothing ever stays the same...Things change and are gone forever... We just have to look at the positive points... a lot more fans can attend now... and while it was without class... You must understand... It costs hundreds of dollars to attend even 1 game..And that’s with just tickets and parking... And they are often long exhausting days... So when people go to the stadium and see the Skin's LOSE games that we know they SHOULD WIN... that’s frustrating... and so they boo.... But they are fans because they pay lots of money and invest lots of time attending those games.... Having to make the LONG drive home after a senseless loss isn't too much fun... We have a long proud tradition of winning as Redskins Fan's and have waited to win.... To keep losing year after year ..when we have so much talent wears on you... As much emotion as you expend watching the Redskin's lose while you are sitting at home.... Magnify that by 100 in the Stadium ...so add some antifreeze and frustration and people will boo.... But make no mistake we have great and proud fans.... BTW I wasn’t there yesterday.... I was upset with Gibb's at 1st..but now I am just proud of the way the team played considering... I don’t see the Gibbs story ending like this... he is too proud... Look for this team to redeem their coach...

Not only do you get yelled at ("down in front") but you will get scolded by the ushers and/or removed if you do not stop. Its truly absurd- you see people getting talked to/tossed out every game...
The second half of section 138 doesn't stand up at all...

From what I was told, two were wearing Cooley jerseys, one a Moss.
skinsfan_nn 12-03-2007, 09:22 PM Solid post, SkinsFans4Ever. I guess we'll have to agree to disagree though. I don't care for most Redskins fans. I think they are far from the best...and much closer to being the worst.
Just interested. You don't care for most Redskins fans for what reason? Which is what you are correct?
I think you are way off base with the statement on quaility of our fan base. For what reason are we closer to the worst?
How many games do you attend every year at FedEx?
I'm at every home game and travel over 3 hours to get to the stadium. I was at the game yesterday, other than a couple knuckle heads that hollared we'll miss ya ST or something close to that, (the rest of the fans were probably to busy wipping tears to speak) maybe 2 to 3 people outta 90K. Those aren't bad odds.
Being at every game I can tell you first hand at least from where I sit in the LL its first class die hards folks that eat, drink, sleep and live REDSKIN FOOTBALL!

Well I pointed out a few posts down what I don't like with the fans. Again, I'm not talking about all fans. And I believe most, most, people on this site are good, true fans. Doesn't mean kool-aid sippers or anything like that.
I don't go to many games anymore, live too far away. And I have more fun at Wizards games anyway. But that's great that you go to all the games good for you. I will say though, that I think there are plenty of great fans that don't/can't go to games. And there are plenty of lousy fans that do.
