It was one of the best days I have ever been a Redskins fan. I was touched to be with so many in the stadium.
Thanks Redskins!

You put on your jersey and you see a decal with his number on it. You walk out on the field and you see his name up there in the Ring of Honor. And then you have to go out there and not just play, but you have to win because an entire nation of Redskins fans won't accept anything less. No matter what the circumstances. I'm glad you made this thread, to remind me that there are still some people with common sense out there. Very true, Smoot, very true. I'm blown away at how angry so many "fans" are about losing today. It just demonstrates an utter lack of class, thoughtfulness and perspective. I couldn't care less about the Skins winning today from the football standpoint, I really wanted them to win for THEM. They lost a teammate and a friend, the pain of which FAR exceeds our pain at losing a hero and a football player. I really wanted these guys to pull out a win so that they could feel like they really honored Sean. In the end it wasn't meant to be, but it just breaks my heart to those guys crying on the sidelines feeling like they let Sean down. I was bawling like a little girl... and Im a pretty large manly dude... That was tough to watch at the end. redskin37 12-02-2007, 08:37 PM good god, just when i thought i hit bottom i go lower. wow SkinsLove24/7 12-02-2007, 08:41 PM For anyone at the game it had a weird vibe, for obvious reasons. The video tribute was really awesome. They did a great job putting it together and the emotion in the stadium was really something, I saw a lot of tears. I had to hold back my tears for like 20 mins. because being there with my younger brother I would not let him see me cry. But it really was special. I loved Gregg Williams words..."You are the best I ever coached...You will be missed." Beemnseven 12-02-2007, 08:44 PM It was tough for me to get mad at my team today. I never thought I'd cry at the death of a man I never knew, never even met. But through all the pregame tributes, the moments of silence, it finally hit me. I've been tearing up all day. For some reason, during one of the sideline shots, I was looking for #21. I have no idea why. I guess there's still a part of me that still can't believe he's gone. It was so disappointing/frustrating to read all the posts of people 'ashamed' of our team today. Thanks for bringing the perspective back in. Yeah, that was Smoot's best game in a Skins uniform that I can remember. He was playing lights-out football all day.
