Rockinganker 12-02-2007, 08:28 PM Everytime I watch the skins play (which painfully is every week) a comment my wife said to me tends to come to mind. She's not a big football fan but will often time spend time with me while the game is on. Out of nowhere she says "The Redskins don't look like any of the other teams I've watched, they look bad and out of control." As much as it pains me to agree with her she is right. Gibbs needs to step down next season and hopefully get someone in here that can give this team the leader they need to bring out all the talent we have on this team.
Sheriff Gonna Getcha 12-02-2007, 08:31 PM .... i dont post often, and dont want to honk any horns but losing taylor like losing brady , i dont think so , i loved taylor but dont think for a minute he makes much difference, this team has played the same most of the year with or without taylor , another team might have rose up and friggin buried the bills today, under the same circumstances, not this team ...and greg williams is the next coach ...i think it was how gibbs got him here with the promise of succsesion
I don't think losing Taylor is like losing Brady, but I do not think you really mean that it makes no difference whether Reed Doughty or Sean Taylor is playing free safety. The man led the league in picks prior to the Eagles game. Teams NEVER got anything deep on us until ST went out and then, lo and behold, teams start torching us on deep throws and screens.

There had to be a better term than "buried the bills" you could have used under the circumstances
Rhaamses 12-02-2007, 08:38 PM I am a Skins fan. I understand that there are up years and down year. I want me team to be successful or at least competitive. I will take these moments of misery, because I do have successful memories. Kilmer duck passes, the Riggo Drill, the Fun Bunch, the pearl harbor crew, Timmie Smith, Dexter and others. I am mad, but am also aware that many teams have yet to achieve what we have. We want more, we expect more. We are on the downward end of our cycle, but we will improve. When I feel I am at my lowest point, I can always take solstice in the fact that - Yes - I am a Knick Fan also. Things are never truly as bad as they seem.
mredskins 12-02-2007, 08:46 PM what is also painfully this year, is we are at our lowest with everything going on but the f--king Cowboys are sky high. Since 91 (the last time we were really good) the Cowboys have been great then crappy now great again. We remain crappy! UGH!
This is the worst year that I have ever been a Redskins fan taking in all the injuries, painful loses and the ST death. Just plain horrible.
BrunellMVP? 12-02-2007, 09:09 PM I like everyone here am heartbroken, upset, frustrated, angry, furious, and am desperateky in need of answers....
I have none, but I will post a few comments based on what I've read here...
First- I agree that its inexcusible for gibbs not to know that calling a second time out is not allowed. No ifs, ands, or buts, he needs to know the rules, he's paid to know the rules. He knows this...
Second- when its third down and 8 and another first down wins the game, you don't call a running play that gives an NFL team the ball with a minute left trailing by less than a field goal. Gutless.
Third- the fans that cheered during the moment of silence were reponding to people that yelled "we love you sean". Still inappropriate, but their hearts were in the right place.
Forth- I think the biggest thing that gets me is that every week I get amped up (because if we could only play a complete game- we'd make the playoffs and likely do damage) only to watch us crumble under a littany of gaffs usually reserved for steve martin movies. How we continue to torture our fans with sloppy uninspired play is mind boggling. We've been fooled 6 times this year, what does that say about us?
Fifth- I love jason cambell. He is no doubt our future and he gives me hope, but there is no question that he chokes up a bit in the red zone. This will get better with time.
Seventh- the reality is, we have now lost 4 in row, our coaches continue to make mental mistake and attempt to sit on leads, our line is beat up (randy we need you buddy) and our best player just died (we miss ST. 21). Bottomline is that our playoff chances are grim.
Redskin 12-02-2007, 09:17 PM is there anyone out there , that thought going into the latter stages of the 4 th quarter of that game who thought the skins would win even though they were in front ... i didnt i honestly whew they would lose by the one point after the fieldgoal that the bills would eventually kick, this team is really hard to watch , its the same crap week after week , no learning curve with this bunch , hang on to tiny leads and blow it at the end of games , i never really post , but always read the forums , someone most of the time says it for me, but this was just maddening , this team has no friggin heart , some game to honor your lost teamate , same crap different week , joe gibbs i thing after seeing this latest of many flubs , is not an answer , i mean three straight running plays, after you couldnt run all day at a time when they absolutly knew you were going to run, an they stacked the line is just plain dumb, all i do is shake my head , coach in the wings williams is not going to do it and he is the next coach , its in the books , salary cap hell ... these days its not so fun being a skins fan
nice sentiment I mean they only lost a friend and teamate your right they should have been easy for them to take the field and even easier for them to win, note my sarcasm. Try using a period. Heres a few.........
diesl44 12-02-2007, 09:21 PM yes "buried" not intentional bad term to use under the circumstances
SmootSmack 12-02-2007, 09:23 PM What happened to reason number 6 MVP?
Anyhow:
1. Agreed. Inexcusable.
2. With the bad weather conditions toward the end of the game I think there's no point in risking a turnover. And that's not "playing not to lose" That's playing smart. You run the ball, run the clock down and get a good punt to pin them back deep. I probably would have lined up in the shotgun and run a draw or little dump off pass personally. By the way, Frost's punt was awful. Just awful.
3. Moment of silence means moment of silence. The rest of the league understood that, why couldn't we? It's like that idiotic "OH" during the Star-Spangled Banner.
4. Save for the Giants game, we're really not blowing massive leads. That doesn't make it ok but it just means we are a competitive team but not a dominant team. A lot of it has to do quite honestly with...
5. Jason Campbell. The guy is going to be the best Redskins QB since Sammy Baugh. I 100% believe that, but (with very few exceptions) every great QB goes through the kind of season he's going through right now. For whatever reason, I think of Kobe's three airballs in the playoffs 10 years ago when I think of Campbell
6. "Please Stand By"
7. The Browns got ROBBED today...and that really really hurts us. Seriously didn't anyone else see that? That was definitely a TD

This is the worst year that I have ever been a Redskins fan taking in all the injuries, painful loses and the ST death. Just plain horrible.Taylor's death alone makes this my worst season as a Skins fan. They could go 0-16 next year and it wouldn't be worse than this.
