a Sean Taylor memorial fund... that will do good works for a long period of time in his name... to let his name live.
I knew I would get attacked... but it needs to be said.
That's the FIRST time you said that.
I still might not agree but I ain't an online mind reader

Cool
You make yer personal choice by not donating. The great thing about free will is some "may" choose to send some for this child.
I won't send money but I hope all the people that want to do send what they want.
I'd like to "hope" they take care of the poor too but.....that's their choice.
If I had my way you all would be sending money to *(*&&^%^%$%&**& which is my passion but I won't get on folks cases for not spending "my way".
peace
Hail Skins
I am not getting on people for sending the money to the fund... My complaint is that the Skins are asking for it. I think the money they will raise from the team and players around the league will be more than enough... and they didn't need to have this go public... but a memorial fund that helps some other good cause (which if I remember, is mentioned in another thread) IS something they should open to the public.
That's the FIRST time you said that.

Let's not make this personal... I was stating an opinion.... and I do more than my share ... I just don't advertise it.

Did you read the statement on the team website?
No where in that statement do they ask for anything.
All they do is answer a question that I'm sure they have been getting hammered with since the poor guy died, indeed it's the same question that was raised in another thread.
Question: "Is there something someone can do if they want to help Sean's orphaned daughter?"
Answer:
The statement clearly says...
"Donations to The Sean Taylor Memorial Trust Fund may be made to..."
That's it...period...
They don't ask for a thing...

Found on the team website (Link) (http://www.redskins.com/news/newsDetail.jsp?id=32264)
Dan Snyder will donate $500,000 to start and wanted to do this so his daughter Jackie can have all of the advantages whe would have gotten had Sean lived and made the kind of money he's capable of making...
Donations can be made to:
The Sean Taylor Memorial Fund
c/o The Washington Redskins
21300 Redskins Park Drive
Ashburn, VA 20147
My understanding is this is completely separate and independant of the Sean Taylor Memorial Fund being set up by Gulliver Schools, Inc. which was mentioned in another thread...
Mods fell free to move this if it's in the wrong space...I did a board search so I know this news has not been mentioned yet.
The Dan Rooney of the NFC. Well Done Dan Snyder.
