OK... I know I am about to get slammed by my comments, but a part of this bothers me.

First and foremost... I agree 100% that the Redskins did the right thing establishing a fund that Synder and some of the players can contribute to... to ensure that this young lady gets the quality of education that her father would have provided had he lived... that is not my issue.

My issue with this is the part where they say where to send contributions to... from the general public. How many kids go to bed hungry every night because they don't have enough food on the table. Or can't finish school because they have to support the family etc??? While the team should be supporting this young lady, to ask the public to donate to that fund instead of helping others, well.... that's just wrong.

OK... let me have it.. but I have been on a rant here at my house since I read that part.

I don't think the two are mutually exclusive. They're not telling you have to do one at the expense of the other.

Where did you send money?

Not busting just asking. People that scream at other people donating their money where they wish I'm not in favor of.

Hail Skins

FYI: I fed 500 at Walter Reed Army Medical Center this summer and didn't send a penny to Sean Taylor's family ...yet

No, most families are of middle class (hence the term middle class)... that means they do not have infinite funds to donate to charity. While I think the Redskin have the obligation (as they obviously agree) to do the right thing by this little girl... I think the public can do much better with their funds since she already has a MINIMUM of half a mil... with the players $$$ to come (and if I was a player, I would donate to her trust also).

Cool
You make yer personal choice by not donating. The great thing about free will is some "may" choose to send some for this child.

I won't send money but I hope all the people that want to do send what they want.

I'd like to "hope" they take care of the poor too but.....that's their choice.

If I had my way you all would be sending money to *(*&&^%^%$%&**& which is my passion but I won't get on folks cases for not spending "my Cherity's way".

peace
Hail Skins

I am not getting on people for sending the money to the fund... My complaint is that the Skins are asking for it. I think the money they will raise from the team and players around the league will be more than enough... and they didn't need to have this go public... but a memorial fund that helps some other good cause (which if I remember, is mentioned in another thread) IS something they should open to the public.

ALL Chrities are open to the public and I would guess the Skins would encourage folks to help with.

The [Redskins] helped with Breast Cancer this year. Should Amputees be mad? Should Military wounded be mad? Should other groups be mad?

No I say

will be more than enough...
How much is enough to pay for your Daddy?

Mike... you are not fully getting my point. There are ALOT of good causes. I am saying that the Redskins and players have got that particular situation under control. The team should not focus on the fans donating to the little girl since they have done so much on that front... but continue with breast cancer, military, boys & girls clubs, and on, and on, and on...

So what are you saying, that they should have no fund at all? Or that Snyder should have just donated his money and not offered fans the opportunity to donate as well if they wanted to, instead said "We know you're all grieving for Sean and want to know how you can help. Well don't. I've got that covered. Just give to cancer research."

(by the way, kinda curious that the father is referred to as Pete, not Pedro, in that press release)

Who are you to decide what in under control?
You also didn't answer how much would be enough not to know yer Daddy. How much would Sean Taylor working for to provide for his child?

No, I am saying they should have a fund for ST's daughter... that Snyder should donate as much as he has... and that he should have opened it up to the players... but... ok..... this little girl will get a few mil... isn't that enough to make sure she gets a head start on life? I mean, when so many kids can't aford shoes to go to school.

I am saying for the fans, they should (and I believe do have) a Sean Taylor memorial fund... that will do good works for a long period of time in his name... to let his name live.

I knew I would get attacked... but it needs to be said. Snyder and the players will take care of this little girl with so much... they need to just do that in house and not take from other organizations.
