Guys is it me or is Taylor's lost reverberating more than most of the other football players we've lost in recent memory.

Or is it the fact this happenend during the season and the tragic circumstances surrounding his death.

The response from around the league seems gigantic!
I do not remember anything like this before for any other player.
Yah, I know I am a fan, BUT, it totally seems to me like I have lost one of my own family. Very strange, as I still grieve this.
I don't like the thought of the Skins playing without him. It does not seem right

I think a big part of the response is due to players recognizing the same things we saw in Sean. He was a once in a generation safety in terms of physical talent, and he was on his way to becoming an all-time great. There wasn't a safety in football that was playing better this year, and the guy was only 24. To be that good, that young, he almost certainly would have received HOF consideration after 4 or 5 more years like this. Also, players who knew him universally recognized his growing maturity. I will be sure to watch FOX's pregame on Sunday to see how Taylor is honored around the league.

I think it's your 2nd point...the fact that it happened during the season, along with how he was tragically murdered is why it's impacting as hard as it is. Plus it seems that the league and its players truly see how special Sean was, and what could have been.

I agree with the 1st point. This was a pro bowl player. Darrent Williams(RIP) was a solid corner but didnt have the NFL recognition.
EVERYONE knew Taylor. When Roy Williams was "the man" people talked about him. But since Taylor showed up, Williams became the 2nd most recognizable safety.
He was always on ESPN for smashing oppenents.

Have to give Lovie Smith some credit. He said that if the Skins petition to have the Bears game moved to the 8th, 9th or 10th he would agree to it, and saying it before it happens tells me he is a stand up guy. I would like to think all coaches would do this but I bet there are some that wouldn't. Anyone want to comment who (coach) would force the Skins to the schedule?

Sorry guys, I'm a scrub so I can't post the link but I found it on yahoo sports, Here is his comments from the post-

In situations like this, you want the league to do what is best for everybody concerned," Smith told the newspaper. "I understand what the Redskins are going through right now. We are team players. We will do whatever the league thinks is appropriate."
