Against Philly, Keenan McCardell gets some more playing time and the Skins' passing game improves.
Against Tampa, Keenan McCardell AND Reche Caldwell get more playing time and the Skins passing game improves even more.
These two guys get more time only because Brandon Lloyd and Antwaan Randle-El get less playing time.
Hmmm... Two free-agent acquisitions doing more than two "$30M-WRs". Wonder if these "walk-ons" will get to stay on the field...? :yeahright
Caldwell and McCardell have both been nice finds. Obviously McCardell is nearing the end of his career but I wonder if we'll look to re-sign Caldwell long term.
They did some the goto work yesterday. It was good to see those guys making a valuable contribution. Maybe Mcardell being in his former home had something to do with it?

only speculation on my part but to me it seems that when moss is in he only runs a couple types of routes (which dont use the middle of the field i.e. screen, sideline hitch and fly routes) and that when caldwell and Mccardell are in they get sent on those crossing/using the middle of the field routes . . . only a guess on my part thoo

No, but I noticed the trend of us playing with no urgency until the final 2 and a half minutes and then we march down to the red zone for the tie/win and then throw an interception.

Randle El has stepped up his game to another level this year once again proving that college QBs are well equipped mentally to adjust to another offensive position in the NFL. It's a better idea to spend a draft pick on a supremely athletic college QB than it is to spend it on a college wide receiver who is equally rated.
Of course, you want to make sure that the supreme talent involves good pass catching skills (Matt Jones...I'm looking at you).

Not sure if you watched the entire game but they played tough the entire second half.

Newsflash: the Bucs have a really good defense.

I don't think Moss or El will necessarily lose their starting roles. But we should certainly expect to see more of Keenan and Reche. Contracts be damned. Archuleta could tell you that.
You know what you're going to get out of Keenan, only question is for how much longer. The wild card is Caldwell however. If he can prove over the next five weeks that he can lock down the #3/4 WR position it will (should) affect our offseason moves.

I don't know about you guys but Keenan looks fresh out there, I think he has another year or so in him. Then again only he can decide that.
I've also noticed that Reche is the only receiver on our team that will go up and get a ball over his head. Not only that but he brings it down too, he should put on a clinic for the rest of our receivers.
