When you're famous and you make a lot of money you can be a target. We'll find out, but it is a possibility. I'd say it probably reflects on the individual who would perpetrate such a crime rather than on Taylor, who from everything I've seen in the past few years has really become a mature and upright individual. He had some problems early, as every story on this incident has taken the time to mention, but I was very impressed on the few occasions I heard him speak. He had a great understanding of the game and seemed like a very intelligent person besides. Still, your point has some validity and I'd hope that the Miami-Dade police would have that guy who was involved in the earlier case with the ATVs and the lawsuit in for questioning right now.

Yeah. I am not knocking the guy. Aside from some early bumps in the road(and the one large bump) he has been a great team guy. Doesn't run his mouth with the media, just goes out and does his job. I certainly hope he pulls through. We know so little about what happened though, that you do have to wonder...

WOW, I keep reading these posts but still can't beleive what they are saying.

This is some bad news and not what the Skins needed at this point.

I really was hoping that he could come back healthy for the last game. I wanted to Dallas to beat the Skins with ST in the line-up. Now, games and wins seem kind of meaningless when someone's life is on the line.

I really do hope he gets better and recovers from this incident.

FOX Sports on MSN - NFL - Taylor in critical condition after shooting (http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/7490604)

"He's in critical condition and has somewhat stabilized after surgery, but things could go either way at this point," the source said. "He's lost an incredible amount of blood. At this point, we're just waiting to see how he responds to the surgery."

An Extremeskins poster said this:

Channel 5 news (Fox 5) just reported that Sean Taylor is in a coma right now. Do keep him in prayer.

Sean Taylor is a true Redskins...he has done nothing but sacrifice his body and well-being for this team over these last years...there is not a man on this board who can truly call himself a man....who would not do everything that they can to prtect their family and their home....he went to his backdoor to check on a noise and he was unfortunately he was shot....he did exactly what I would have done....attempt to make sure my family was ok...if he was a "thug" like SOME in the media have tried to paint him to be...he would have shot the intruder....however Sean merely tried to make sure his family was fine...doesn't matter if this was retribution, crazed fan, or random violence...a young man...24 years old was shot....He has become the unassuming face of the franchise particularly since LaVar has left....aside from everything else....we need to send our thoughts and prayers to Sean, his daughter, and his loved ones....

And now Collin Cowturd on ESPN is spinning the negative on ST. He said he "spent 60 seconds Googling Sean Taylor" and he pulled up all of his troubled past, blah, blah, blah. He thinks this was not a "random" incident. I understand the curiosity of the media and regular peeps as well to question this crime, but to dwell on the negative reminds me of the Don Henley tune "Dirty Laundry." I just wish everyone would wait for the facts before speculating and making assumptions. We will know the facts when they are discovered.

I just sent him a not-so-friendly email.
