Let's all just picture this.

Our boy is gonna get through this. He is going to hit this thing as hard as he hits alligator arm WRs and blow it the f*ck out of the water. And then next season he will come back and lead us. He will annihalate opposing players and blow Cowboys up like toy soldiers. That's how I am going to look at it. I can't for the guy to come back full strength. I am not going to dwell on the potential negatives. Let's think positive.

Athletes getting robbed in their home has been a very serious issue over the past year or so.

However, and I've only heard this fom one source so I can't confirm this in any way yet, I've heard some rumors that this wasn't a random robbery. Rumor is this was a crazed fan. If I hear more I'll let you know.

You're right. That has been a very serious issue. Wasn't Antoine Walker robbed in his home earlier this year? Was that in South FL too?

If this was a crazed fan, this incident would become far more tragic. Seriously, why can't some people just get a grip.

Im still in shock that the call to the police went out at 1:45 and the police didnt get there until 2:00. That means he was bleeding out for 15 minutes at least until a turniqit was thrown on to stop the bleeding... of course the times may not be accurate, but ive seen guys bleed out in minutes when hit in the femoral.

If he was indeed shot in the femoral artery is it true to keep him alive they may need to amputate his leg?
Amputation is generally predicated on the extent of the blunt trauma to the femoral artery, the amount of vascular reconstruction needed, whether associated vessels were injured, and whether his tibia was fractured by the bullet. If his injury incorporates many (or all) of these variables--then the rate of amputation increases.

Basically everyone is talking about how much Sean has matured over the past few years, how he is a different person from '05, how he has changed since starting a family. James Thrash is talking right now, you can get the live stream from Redskins.com.

Thrash: We're praying for his family; the Skins have organized a prayer meeting and have prayed; during team meeting pastor came in and team prayed.

And now Collin Cowturd on ESPN is spinning the negative on ST. He said he "spent 60 seconds Googling Sean Taylor" and he pulled up all of his troubled past, blah, blah, blah. He thinks this was not a "random" incident. I understand the curiosity of the media and regular peeps as well to question this crime, but to dwell on the negative reminds me of the Don Henley tune "Dirty Laundry." I just wish everyone would wait for the facts before speculating and making assumptions. We will know the facts when they are discovered.

Yeah, no one is reporting on how much Sean has grown over the past couple of years. Cowherd is a douchebag, who is entertaining at times but basically a callous prick, as illustrated by the above. If you haven't followed the Redskins all you know is the bad stuff from a couple of years ago, but Redskins fans and players know better how much maturing Sean has done. Basically they don't know what they are talking about, think that people are incapable of change apparently, and don't follow the Redskins close enough to make a half-way intelligent comment and instead revert to speculation and misinformation.

My experience in working in the medical field lets me know one thing : Gunshot wounds to the thigh DO NOT require getting air lifted to a hospital, you go by ambulance. This is not good my friends.

Im gonna go pray.....

Yeah, my thoughts exactly, but from a law enforcement perspective.

I was the first officer on two scenes in the last year where the victims were shot in the legs. One guy was shot through the thigh and calf with a 9mm handgun, the other was shot through the thigh with a .22 rifle.

Both were evacuated by ambulance, not helicopter. In fact, with the first one (the one shot with the 9mm), myself, the victim and another officer had to remain behind the cover of a pickup truck given that the shooter was supposedly in a building directly across from us. We were eventually evacuated by the SWAT team about 30-45 minutes after my arrival.

As far as I know both victims made it fine. The one shot with the 9mm was lucid and talkative the entire time I was with him.

I guess it all depends on where the shots landed and, specifically, with what weapon he was shot. Makes me think this was a particularly bad circumstance since he was taken out via helicopter.
