SouperMeister 11-26-2007, 12:55 PM Any thoughts on recovery from this? Will he be able to walk around without aid after surgery and rehab or is he likely to suffer debilitating effects from this? Forget the football aspect, this dude got shot in his own home; just like any of us could have been. That's what bothers me the most; if he gets shot running around doing crap he knows better than to do, ehh, tough sh*t for him. But to be shot at your house during what is arguably becoming your best year as a professional football player with regards to conduct and ability. That's tragedy.I believe that the femoral nerve that runs beside the artery controls the upper leg motion down to the knee. If he survives, but has nerve damage there, we may be looking at a career ending injury. NYCSkin 11-26-2007, 12:56 PM Any thoughts on recovery from this? But to be shot at your house during what is arguably becoming your best year as a professional football player with regards to conduct and ability. That's tragedy. Depending on the extent of the damage, whether the nerve was nicked or severed; this will determine the course of his physical rehabilitation. Still to early to determine that. At this point, he needs to make it out of surgery. From there, he'll need to get out of the surgical ICU. And so on... mheisig 11-26-2007, 12:57 PM I thought I'd just point out that Sean is only 24. I think sometimes we lose sight of the fact that a lot of the "men" playing this game are really just kids, many fresh out of college. Hog1 11-26-2007, 12:57 PM Interviewing a PD spokesman right now on XXX BringBackJoeT 11-26-2007, 01:00 PM C'mon, Sean. We're all pulling for you, buddy. SteelandSkin 11-26-2007, 01:02 PM Redskins fans, I'd like to express my condolences to your organization and above all the Redskins organization at this time. The Redskins have been the team I have respected the most outside of my own team the Steelers and it hurts me that one of their best players suffered this. I wish you all nothing but the best. LRT 11-26-2007, 01:02 PM We're praying for Sean and his family over here in Ukraine and hoping for the best. artmonkforhallofamein07 11-26-2007, 01:02 PM He is still in critical condition. Just reported on First Take @ 12:02 PM. firstdown 11-26-2007, 01:05 PM There was a doctor on the radio who was talking about this. The artery which was hit suplies blood to the lower half of his body. He is probably out of surgery and is in critical condition due to the loss of blood. The good news was that he made it to the hosptle and through surgery. Bad news is it could affect other organs in the body and he could lose a limb due to the loss of blood. The other good news was because he is in such good health it would help the body from all of the blood loss and also help in the healing. He also noted that he could have been taking medcine for his knee which could make the bleeding worse. This is what a doctor said and was the last post on the prior page so I thought I'd bump it back up. |
