Good things from this game

Well, even though we lost this game; but there were some good things in that game.. And I pretty much got tired of all this negative things pouring into this forum after the game.. And last game vs Cowgirls..

Caldwell: After this game, I asked myself this: why the hell did not he play since he was signed?? He had few good catches, including the jumping catch.. He hasn't even dropped the ball (if I recall right and *knocks on wood*)..

Defense: They played pretty well, better than most of us (including me) expected.. I even expected them to give up a long play to Galloway but they did not.. Even though there were few chances of that happening but it didn't, and it's all thanks to D-line.. I am absolutely impressed with Chris Wilson, he definitely has some speed.. I just hope he can become a every down DE next yr or so.. Marcus Washington- it appears that he has brushed off the rusty and I loved how he threw Garcia down..

Jason Campbell: JC was one of good things coming out from this game.. Yes I know, he made stupid mistakes; two costly interceptions - mainly the reason why we lost this game.. BUT we would not have biting our nails and feeling our heart pumping if it was not for JC.. He was the one who threw balls to our players, he was the one who moved the chain.. If I recall right, MB could not even do that last yr and two yrs ago.. And beside, I would prefer JC to make those stupid and costly mistakes this year instead of next year or so.. How can a quarterback be good quarterback if he never made any mistakes? I know, there are several qbs like that in NFL but we can't have everything we want..

Plays calling: I was really surprised with JG - he gambled and went for it while 4 down and 1 yd three times.. Even though the second one, we should have kicked the FG.. But it was definitely something that almost all of us never expected.. I just hope this is good sign..

DUDEs and DUDETTEs: I do NOT want to see any negative thing in this thread.. For god's sake, I do not want to feel horrible about our team because some of you guys could not control yourselves..

Good post. I like to look at the positives and not dwell on the negatives. PATIENCE is name of the game, when our walking wounded start to come back and our QB gains experience the hard way, we will win again. Actually with the # of yards we put offensively the last 2 games, we will start kicking ass.

Outside of the turnovers which were obviously a huge negative, I agree we did a lot of good things today. Ultimately though we need to start winning some games.

Over 300 yards passing is all good, but 2 dumb INTs negate that. One lousy TD negates that, not much of a running game for most of the game negates that. 4 lost fumbles negates any thing positive that can be taken. Last weeks loss you could take the positives from the loss, it was against our bitter rival and we played admirably til the last INT killed us. Too many foul ups today to be able to look at JC's develpoment as being good. I will take an ugly win over an unbelievable loss anyday. Today just about stuck a fork in our playoff hopes. WE can smoke the Bears and Bills, but Dallas, Minnesota, and the Gmen combine for a formidable trio to think we can go undefeated against. Also, with Dallas and GB neck and neck, don't count for Dallas to pull their starters out for the last game. We better hope for some nasty weather like a blizzard for us to have a chance. Minnesota is doing OK without their hotshot rookie RB also. They destroyed the Gmen at the Meadowlands today. We get them in the dome. We can run the table, but after today's sloppy performance it is highly unlikely.

Don't count out Buffalo and Chicago either, all games are tough. Just ask the Patriots tonite.

Also, we have bad luck with the Gmen, even at Fedex. Even when we have the better team on paper we still manage to lose to those clowns. I see 8-8 as the probable record at the end of the season. We just cannot play a full 60 minutes of decent football. I know most of you think I am negative and I probably am, but damn, I haven't seen us play a solid 60 minute game at all this season. We suck one half, look good the other. That isn't a hallmark of a good football team or franchise. There is blame to go all around also. Execution has s tunk at times, dumb penalites, and the coaching is also suspect. Only way Snyder should keep Gibbs around is if the rumor is true that Cowher is just waiting for Gibbs to play out his contract.

Please don't start this Cowher vs. Gibbs thing. Personally I don't want some Jay Leno jawed guy coaching this team. Do you think Cowher II can be more successful than Gibbs II? Please. We are so FUCKING close to figuring it out, all we need is some of those injured players back and quit turning over the ball.

Unfortunately, the the final score is mostly all that matters but it does not always reflect the good things a team does in a game. The six turnovers are what dominate the thought process, but I thought the team did do some good things today despite the loss. Looking at the game summary, we outplayed TB in every statistical category. Four hundred twelve total yards of offense, fifty three % completion on third down 9-17, 30-49 passing, and TOP 34:53 to 25:07. I was particularly impressed with the 3rd down effeciency as well as the play of the defense. The mistakes made by Campbell is all a part of the process of a young, and developing QB. I have always felt one can benefit from mistakes in the long run, and Jason hopefully, has many more years to become as effecient as we all would like to see him be.

I see a lot of these posts after a loss. Its always the same kind of post i.e. look at the bright side of things, on the other hand, the positives... etc. The issue I have with them is the Skins dont seem to improve on any of it. Sure the defense looked good today, but they will be shit next week. Clinton fumbled twice, great, he will rush for 200 yds and have 3 TD's next week.... It just seems to be the trend. I rarely ever seen this team building off of a good performance. Because of our inconsistency we are now sitting at 5-6.

Of course, not everyone likes to cry, piss, and moan after a loss. It doesn't hurt to try to look at both sides.
